It looks like for work, i can choose an EV as a company car, and I got a Jolla C2, I’ve been thinking about Tesla Model 3, but I donno if I can use my phone as a key without android support (i have not enabled it yet); The link to your source code has disappeared; I donno if i can obtain a fleet key, or if this will be expensive, but maybe I can test this out and adjust QML. Unless y’all think it’s worthless and I should pick another car.

Apart from my issues with Elon and my dislike for Tesla: Android won’t save you here, because it’s via Bluetooth. The Android AppSupport doesn’t do anything Bluetooth at the moment, so I don’t think you’ll be able to use your phone as key.
EDIT: possibly the approach of @rdomschk works: Potential Bluetooth Support in the Android App Support (AAS) - #206 by rdomschk, but that might not be the most convenient from a Sailfish-usability POV. Thanks to @pherjung for pointing that out to me

In the UK, at least, it would be foolish to get any EV other than a Tesla because public charging prices are often double what you pay at a Supercharger. I’m not sure how this works in other countries. [1]
You can lock and unlock the car and use many other functions from the phone app, but I haven’t yet figured out how to get the proximity lock/unlock feature to work. But you can always buy a key fob for that as I did.
[1] On the other hand, the UK government are about to introduce a new tax (£1000 for me) to incentivise people to switch back from electric to petrol, so buying electric makes less sense here right now.

Charging is likely similar where Tesla chargers are much cheaper, but if i mostly charge at home, probably not a huge issue. also, they are cheaper than the other brands too.
My question was on the native support at least, but is the Fleet/Owner API no longer working? or is it expensive? especially since proximity lock/unlock is bluetooth, so maybe that would work natively?
I do the same, but if I still want to drive somewhere at the weekend, paying half the price at a motorway charging station is a nice gesture from Tesla. Electric cars still have an abysmal range (especially in winter), so I have to rely on Superchargers far more than I expected.
I meant the native app as well. You can’t use the Android app to control a Tesla because you need Bluetooth to register it with the car, and I haven’t been able to make Bluetooth work with AAS despite the excellent instructions in the thread mentioned by @rubdos.
The API still works perfectly, and I use the native app pretty much every day. If you can obtain a fleet API key from Tesla, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work with your vehicle too. It’s a bit of a pain to set up, because you need both an API key and a token, which you have to obtain via the Tesla API, and you also have to provide them with a URI to your own web service for that. But it’s something you only really need to do once, which is why I haven’t automated the whole process yet.
True, but that’s where the key fob comes in handy, and even for things like opening the boot it has turned out to be far more convenient than using the phone.
Yes, the NZ govt is way ahead of you in its dedication to a glorious future, with mileage charge on E.Vs but not petrol.

Sample of one: My friend’s Tesla randomly sees ghosts and panic breaks to avoid collision. Tesla say there’s nothing wrong. Luckily, no other car has yet been close enough to hit him from behind. I’m not sure if this is a general issue with “driver assistance” in modern cars, but I’d like to be sure I could return the car under warranty if this happened to me even once.
from what i understood, this is only when you pay huge moneys for the Beta self-driving.
Also, the law clearly states that people should leave ample room; I once saw a glint of light from the right, when turning in left, i broke hard, and some dude crashed in my back. it turned out, it was a parked car his lights lighted up, but that doesn’t matter, if you’re that close that you can’t handle it if i brake hard, you’re too close.
I’m sure it’s very annoying to break for no reason, but maybe better this than not breaking when there is a car? i donno. not planning to pay for the self-driving atm.
Ok, so you say IF you can obtain a fleet API key? but given some documentation steps, and a way for a callback to your own webservices this should be possible? or are there restrictions on this? perhaps we can use one of those free websites linked to git repositories to act as the URI for the fleet key? also, if you’re using it every day, what kind of charges are you paying? furthermore, the tarball you once linked for the UI interface is invalid now, and I kinda want to test it and improve some of it. If you don’t mind, could you release it for us?
I had exactly that with a rental in summer and later in autumn, both have been patrol cars with drive assistance as now required by law in EU.
In summer the car even blocked briefly on the highway because a medical emergency detected by the car software.
I was and am fine, so another fail by the software. So I would suspect drive assistance is the source of error.

This drive assistance goes far beyond to assistance in my perspective, I learned to honestly and deeply hate it it as untrustful technology that wants to be a master… Just painfully awful ugly

I think he turned off any self-driving features, so AFAIK this is just driver assistance. I could be wrong, though.
True. Still, a car that for no good reason decides to go from 90-120 km/h to 0 in the shortest distance possible is a danger.

Heh. I 100% forgot that I was the one starting this topic. I have another data point or two to add: Shell recharge recently switch up apps and blocked all current accounts (even physical cards) until they switch. The re-registration doesn’t work for me: I can’t add my credit card again. I shouted to the X-void, no response.
Felix over on that thread told me to try Tap. No issues requesting a charging tag from their website, no issues logging in on the app, and no issues receiving and activating their tag. Haven’t tried charging with it yet.

To get back on topic, I would like to have access to the UI, would it be possible to reupload, (or maybe @poetaster to fix it up), maybe try to make it into an app with VIN and fleet API key as settings or something?
Heh. The poetaster is much concerned with the amount of work he has to do on his 1993 VW T4 bus. The amount of rust that needs to be fought. The poetaster is very happy to have NO mcu whatsoever in his vehicle.

Sounds really bad. I assume there must be something wrong with that particular car, because mine doesn’t do anything like that.
The last time I had a car perform a panic brake manoeuvre (because of an empty bag of crisps) was in a Ford, so it’s not just a Tesla issue.
I think some of the blame should also lie with the regulators, because many of these features are mandated in new cars despite the technology not being mature. For example, Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) works far better in Teslas than in any other car I’ve tested, but it’s still not trustworthy, even though it’s now mandated in many countries.

You may have to be a registered business or something but I don’t remember. I doubt they really check that.
When I remember it correctly the main issue was that it I had to obtain an expensive certificate for my web server because they somehow didn’t like Let’s Encrypt but that was years ago so maybe it’s not an issue any more.
I’ve checked and it looks like, while I had to provide my credit card information, I don’t actually pay anything because there’s apparently a monthly discount of $10 provided to support individual developers/small applications.
I’m also definitely nowhere near 1211 commands/month:
