Switching to spam folder in mail client shows spam mails in notification area

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): Always
BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 3.4.0.24
HARDWARE (Jolla1, Tablet, XA2,…): Xperia X, Jolla
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): No, I think I noticed that behaviour since forever or at least the 2.x series.

DESCRIPTION:

Switching folders in the mail client sometimes triggers a sync. This causes all notifications for that mail account to update. This is very annoying, if you look at your spam folder and then have a lot of suggestive content in your notifications area.

PRECONDITIONS:

Probably the last sync for that should be a bit in the past already, as I can only reliably reproduce it, when I didn’t open my spam folder for a while. You should also have unread messages in that folder

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open mail client
  2. Switch to another folder with unread mail in one account
  3. Look at the unread notifications left of the task switcher.

EXPECTED RESULT:

Emails from the inbox should still be shown.

ACTUAL RESULT:

Emails from spam folder are shown.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The proper solution may be to allow the user to select, which folders show up in notifications, so that subfolders can be shown too and it defaults to INBOX or so.
