Thanks for the stream
I really enjoyed the live stream , especially the music/ringtones.
Thans you
It was anyways great to have this possibility to join the event. Tanks far that!
But still, it was a day about their product, you know everyone just wanted to hear, touch and feel the product, celebrating the phone. Yet, they were talking about the commedore, the ai, and really everything else. The only exciting thing really, was the music/ringtone præsentation. Would had loved to see them present and give more love to their main product, thats all.
Thanks for sharing the photo of the Inari Blue TOH! Looks like the Jolla Logo is backlit, or is that just a reflection?
I just could watch the stream with many interruptions, but I was impressed by the presentation and the many small details; a lit of thought and effort and love went into the event and its preparation.
Congratulations to the team ![]()

It is backlit. The video uploaded from the owner was with the Jolla logo pulsing.
Many thanks for the nice stream and music. I loved the black piece. ![]()
lol the ringtone concert was awesome! kaamos was sick, and i love the idea of folks caring about ringtones again ![]()
More than 800 viewers from 42 countries watched our peertube livestream so we are very proud to have provided it.
Pick and choose your best parts from the replay here: Jolla Phone Day1 - @fps_gbg – PeerTube
Those are amazing numbers!
The list would be different if there would be normative numbers. How many people from one milion in each country.
Thx, ljo for providing the peertube.
To me, the nice thing and the surprise about the event was the songs around the ringtones (even if they teased us properly). The black one I guess was the favorite for most. I think this deserves even a release outside of Jolla’s sphere, on spotify/deezer… And this could help spread the word on Jolla.
Caught up with the stream late last night, thanks for providing the opportunity to see the activities.
What struck me most was a glimpse of the staggering amount of work that Jolla has completed to date and planned for the future. The insight into the ringtones was a joy and the appearance of Commodore’s CEO confirms the strong relationship between the two companies.
I do feel as a newbie, awaiting batch 3, that there needs to be a slight shift, stepping stone to expand the sales approach from pure community to larger consumer interface. It is obvious from some of the comments that many consumers do not understand the current situation around Jolla and Sailfish OS. Hopefully the success
of the Jolla Phone 2026 will provide the finances to put Jolla where it should be on the European stage……. appreciate I maybe stating the obvious.
Thanks again for the opportunity to ‘be there’ for this very significant event, best wishes to all at Jolla and good luck to the new phone owners, give us that feedback ![]()
Yes, indeed, most categories except these raw numbers of viewers would get Germany out of pole position. There are some factors skewing it anyway, e.g.@frankps had 11 people on 1 stream at the Oslo gathering. But I will try to find some thoughtful categories and present some other diagrams. The numbers are impressive at least compared to the other proprietary surveillance service which could have counted 1000-1500 viewers. Thanks.
You deserve being proud, thank you so much for providing a Peertube stream! It worked really well for me, with just a few occasions of spinner/frozen picture (each lasting a couple of seconds).
I shared my internet connection (and probably some temporary storage), but at times I couldn’t keep up with firewall popups so probably shared a little less than I could have. The nerd in me has many questions…
How much bandwidth was needed server-side for a stream like this? How much “compute”? I’d assume the P2P nature of Peertube would keep requirements down, but I’m curious to know if that actually materializes.
Edit to add: There’s this (old) load test of Peertube PeerTube stress tests: resilience lies in your peers! | JoinPeerTube
I wonder how many watched the Youtube stream! Assuming more people found the mainstream outlet, there could have been thousands of people watching. Not bad for a release party for the community around a small Finnish company ![]()
About 7 thousand people.
Other than some cringe and miserable comments as expected, it was a pretty good flow with Jolla replying in the comments as well!
Yay, so with streams combined there were in the range of 7500-8000 viewers! Congrats to everyone!
Also interesting that the lesser know Peertube attracted 10% or more of the audience. Not bad ![]()
Yes, sharing is caring. Since this was our first large live streaming event I also want to know, so I will write it up in a blog post next week. But there are so many factors. Most recommend no transcoding for live events, but we did three resolutions 1080p, 720p and 360p to cater for different devices being able to consume the stream. The collaborative beauty of p2p is what makes it somewhat sustainable there.
