DESCRIPTION:

When you swipe to switch between keyboard layout the swipe feels slow and not as responsive compared to the other gestures in SFOS

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open an app that you can input text
  2. Try to swipe to change layouts

EXPECTED RESULT:

The gesture works smoothly.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The gesture feels slow and unresponsive

Yes, now that you mentioned it: The animation feels juddery

It looks smooth to me (on a Xperia X). Ore are you talking about the slight delay that happens at the start of the swipe which is there to prevent accidental swipes?

I am not talking about the graphics or animation here. There is a distance your thumb has to travel before the change of layout is initiated that makes it feel sticky. To be precise this distance is that of the spacing between two letters on the keyboard.

Yes it might likely be a design decision but it doesn’t feel right.

I had not really even noticed that, and I use it pretty much daily for switching between normal keyboard and emoji keyboard when writin SMS:es.

I do not feel it is awkward and I suppose it is meant to be like that to prevent accidental switchover of keyboards.
