I’m using Sailfish OS 5.0.0.67.
Today, my phone stopped connecting to the cellular network.
In the Cellular Network settings, it just shows: Network: Searching.
Of course, I’ve already tried different SIM cards and confirmed that they work in other phones.
My question:
Does it make sense to re-flash Sailfish OS in this case? In my experience using sailfish i never re-flashed it. Never need…
Of course, I’ve tried all available options—nothing works. (Normally 4G)
In this case, the SIM is from Congstar / T-Mobile, but I also tested SIM cards from other providers.
The issue seems to be either hardware-related, or hopefully just a software problem. This update to 5.0.0.67 is also some weeks old…
The only thing I’ve noticed is that after entering the PIN code, it usually takes just a few seconds—but now it takes much longer until the phone finishes booting but not if SIM has no PIN. ( I tried SIM cards with and without PIN codes, so it’s clearly not related to the SIM card.)
Is there a log file that might show SIM card or cellular network errors?
I had similar problem few times.
I was in some building few hours, and after I left it, many SMS about missing calls appears to my phone.
I have 5G configured to be used, VoLTE settings has been disabled.
Czech O2 opeator.
Oh yes! I can confirm that I’ve encountered this issue multiple times as well… but at the moment, it’s completely dead. Even without a SIM card, the phone shows nothing. Should I try reflashing it, can it help?
Are you using USB2-port or USB2-dongle in between? Connections through USB3-ports goes to some kind of sleep state if you are not quick enough with your commands.
Hi, I’ve tried it on three different PCs using USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and USB-C. I’m starting to think it’s something with the device itself. But it works Charging is fine and there are no issues—except for the SIM issue.
It’s not my first phone—I’ve had the Xperia I, II, and now this V.
I’ve always flashed new phones, but I don’t remember ever having to reflash one. I never needed to. So maybe reflashing works a bit differently. I’m surprised that dmesg shows nothing…
