Thanks @vlagged for workaround document. I thought only I have this issue.

Also several times caught issue with black unlock screen after reboot. It stuck with loading indicator. The phone seems work. I can swipe left/right (swipe to event view, unlock view and swipe down top panel). When I swipe to unlock view - see black screen, but when I touch number area where numbers for enter pin code are located - the phone is vibrating on touch. One time I was able to unlock the phone. But when I locked phone again the loading indicator still there.

I am pretty sure this is a generic Sailfish OS bug as I also have it on my previous device and I remember it from Xperia 10 (mark1). Powering down the screen and re-lighting it (power button clicks) fixes it.

part. This, in my experience, is ofono or connman not starting. Do you manage to boot in the end, and does it connect to any type of network? If so, can you ssh and get some journalctl -b logs?

That will probably be a nice addition to gstreamer quirks for camera, whenever camera2 API is possible in the future, but it sounds like a lot of params to test and some need camera HUD changes, so I wouldnā€™t think more than some defaults tweaked for everyone would be doable even then. But thanks for the link, now the back of my mind is even heavier ;p

For users in the USA, after tossing some legal foo at T-Mobile, these devices should join the GSM-T network, register volte and work without getting banned. Fyi, MMS send is quirky but seems unrelated to intentional blocking by the carrier. This port works extremely well on US Mobile Lightspeed network (GSM-T) in and around Austin, San Antonio and the surrounding semi-rural and rural areas. Red Pocket, Google-Fi and other MVNO on GSM-T all also work great.

Absolutely excellent work to everyone involved in making this port happen. By far the best port for a phone that can work well in the USA.

Iā€™m battling with AT&T next. Theyā€™re a much harder nut to crack.

Yes, Iā€™ve managed to boot in the end. It looks like the issue was in connman. Unfortunately, I didnā€™t save any logs :frowning:If this problem happens to me again, Iā€™ll post the logs here. Thanks

Hi,
I think I might have something newā€¦ I flashed LOS, then SFOS, it booted, I could set an hardware encryption password, restored a backup from a cyphered SDcard, got my contacts back from a NextCloud instanceā€¦

Then I tried to install Storeman, but the icon disappeared from the application menu soon after the installation (within the same second it appeared).

I then tried to reboot the phone, I could send my hardware encryption password but I end up stuck with a spinning circle and never reached the application desk againā€¦

I can connect via SSH, there is a load of 3.xx but nothing evident. What should I look for ?

(also I noticed that the flash light is surprisingly weak compared to the X10III one)

By any chance, wouldnā€™t it be possible for you to also trigger the 1 IV kernel getting rebuilt with the config tweaks needed for networking, even just as a temporary test build for the brave ones until rinigus is able to look into this? I am ready to accept all the risks as my 10 III has started acting up and it seems that it is giving up its ghost so Iā€™m in real need to be able to fully switch to the 1 IV asapā€¦. I guess that also all the other guys owning the 1 IV (e.g. bundyo) would be very happy if it could be doneā€¦

I wanted to reflash an empty system (for a fresh start) but could not flash the LOS boot and vendor_boot :

Not sure which spinning wheel is that - the decryption or the homescreen. Maybe set the the console to infinite scrollack and paste all you got in a pastebin-like service? (Next time - I know youā€™re reflashing).

Sometimes issuing the fastboot command before the phone is connected works (or even if connected, but before it reboots with the cable connected, your volume up button held and the command issues).

All I can tell is that I can unroll the top menu (showing my locked SIM card) and I can start the camera app sliding from the bottom.

Ok, so the spinner on the homescreen. Do you have this if you somehow remove the pin from the sim card? (e.g using another phone?)

you should see gstreamer1.0-droid-0.20251025.0+mediabuffers.nnnn

Let me know if it works for you (you need to re-enable avc if you disabled it from gstdroidcodec.conf)

Seems to be working!

But still canā€™t play the file Iā€™ve created with ffmpeg -i src.mkv -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -filter:v scale="720:trunc(ow/a/2)*2" out.mp4 (to test: WDfiles ā€” фŠ°Š¹Š»Š¾Š¾Š±Š¼ŠµŠ½Š½ŠøŠŗ Š±ŠµŃŠæŠ»Š°Ń‚Š½Ń‹Š¹ - Š·Š°Š³Ń€ŃƒŠ·Šøть фŠ°Š¹Š»), though MpvQml plays it.

Then reflashed SFOS, redo the welcome and got the spinner !
At this point, I also got a (not so dim) light in my head : this spinner is simply waiting for my fingerprint.

Problem solved.

I re-installed Storeman (install successful) but still no icon on the deskā€¦

Fatal error: nothing provides 'libsailfishsecrets.so.0()(64bit) necessary for harbour-storeman-0.7.4-1.26.1.bso.aarch64

Sorry for late reply. After installing gstreamer1.0-droid-0.20251025.0+mediabuffers and re-enabling avc in gstdroidcodec.conf most avc videos (including those which previously didnā€™t work) now play correctly in Gallery. But still not all. As reported by @remote above, his sample video still doesnā€™t play at all in Gallery (while it plays just fine in e.g. Sailfish web browser or in MpvQml), and there are also numerous avc videos which do play but with distorted colors, artefacts, etc. Most common issues are green lines and/or large bars all around the screen. I also encountered one video only showing solid green screen with audio. All those videos do play entirely OK in the web brower, MpvQml, VLC in AAS, etc.

Anyway, Iā€™ve just seen on Github that there are changes to droidmedia in progress, making it possible to force media buffers in gst-droid like in gecko-camera via quirks in gstdroidcodec.conf. So, quite possibly, itā€™ll soon further improve avc playback to a really good level.

This, and hopefully also the 1 IV kernel soon getting rebuilt with the networking config tweaks enabling mobile data in AAS (like it already is the case on the 5 IV), would give this port already at this point a 100% usability, with no doubt the most powerful SFOS devices ever available.

Is 5 IV already daily-driveable with AAS, comparable to X10III? As in, are papercuts actively getting in the way, or not really.
