SOLVED Network reconnection after flight mode not possible

REGRESSION: yes (since: 5.0.0.5 - aarch64)

DESCRIPTION:

When leaving flight mode the phone cannot reconnect to previously connected WLAN or used mobile networks. Also in system / utilities the network and mobile reconnect utility does not help to reestablish connection. When using the toggle for mobile or WLAN the spinning circle appears and continues without establishing a connection.
Reconnection to networks (WLAN and mobile) only after reboot.

PRECONDITIONS:

Phone is put into flight mode and the toggle is put to off to leave flight mode and re-enable network connection

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Enter flighmode
2. Leave flightmode
3. Optionally: toggle off and on again network after leaving flight mode

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Reconnect to previously connected wlan or mobile networks

ACTUAL RESULTS:

No connection to networks possible, neither WLAN nor mobile

MODIFICATIONS:

• Patchmanager: yes
• OpenRepos: yes
• Chum: yes
• Other: none specified

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Device Owner User: defaultuser
Home Encryption: not supported

2026-07-22: appears to be a device specific bug, will be solved by updating the repository by the porter of the phone

Isn’t that report more for a porter of Quintus?

I am unsure if it is only affecting the port, reported also in Quintus thread: The Volla Quintus (algiz) thread - #231 by MeeGo-Junky.

If I read correctly (and I might have missed something in previous posts), problems were with WPA3 only networks. In my case a) the mixed ‘WPA2+WPA3’ did work previously in SFOS 5.0.x perfectly. After ugrade to 5.1 the problem appeared in unaltered router settings and suddenly the cannot connect to the WLAN anymore. The router setting were unchanged. b) maybe coincidence: automatic switch to mobile does not work anymore when I leave a WLAN that I was connected to. Therefore, my issue appear…

(in the beginning I suspected to be related to issue a) from that post, but it is not).

The reply to my post suggested a bug report creation, which I did after collecting sufficient data to confirm reproducibility of this issue.
