SMS to multiple contacts prediction UI bug

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.4.0.64
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 II
UI LANGUAGE: Dutch/Nederlands
REGRESSION: I don’t know

DESCRIPTION:

When sending a SMS to multiple contacts, from the 2nd contact, text put in before selecting contact isn’t erased.
It looks like:

Peter
joJoey
boBob

Instead of bold italics it is just underscored, but I can’t do that on this forum, or at least I don’t know how.

PRECONDITIONS:

Having multiple contacts with name and number

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open messages, new message
  2. Type a few letters and select contact from the drop down menu
  3. What you typed has been replaced by the name of the contact
  4. Repeat for a second recipient
  5. What you typed has not been replaced, but the contacts name has just been added.

EXPECTED RESULT:

Replace my typed text by the selected suggestion, just like it does with the first contact.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The recipients name is shown incorrectly.

MODIFICATIONS:

None, but I did install updates from terminal, because the UI prompted me to delete a lot of apps. Don’t think it is relevant, but here it is just to be sure.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

I confirm on XA2 4.4.0.64
But the SMS is sent to the right places.

I found that too. It is just cosmetical. Even, when you go to the message the names are displayed correctly.

Thanks for reporting this @ThijssjihT. As you’ve both pointed out, this doesn’t affect sending, nevertheless it certainly looks wrong. We have a fix in the pipeline, but it’s unlikely to make it into the next (4.5.0) release I’m afraid. Hopefully it will be in the one after that though.
