thank you, fingers crossed the new devices reignite interest in the app.
I tried to install rockpool from abransons repo, but the installation (don’t know if it was rockpool itself or qt5-websockets as dependency) complained that the user nemo is missing (which is correct on my device).
Which version? You can also try to update the repo before:
Use one of these commands as root depending on your architecture
ssu ar rockpool https://repo.sailfishos.org/obs/home:/abranson:/sailfishapps/aarch64/
ssu ar rockpool https://repo.sailfishos.org/obs/home:/abranson:/sailfishapps/armv7hl/
ssu ar rockpool https://repo.sailfishos.org/obs/home:/abranson:/sailfishapps/i486/
And install with:
zypper ref && zypper in rockpool
My own experience is that rockpool still rock (…) with the pebble steel. Unfortunately I have the impression that the power consumption of the watch when used with the C2 is a lot higher compared to Xperia 10ii I was using before.
@abranson seems to work on implementing the pairing with BLE (in light of the new pebble watches announced too), which I hope could help with power consumption too. Thanks in advance to him!
new version of libpebble for building companion apps:
I ordered a pebble time 2 and hope, that I can use it with a native Sailfish app, then…
depending on what the time 2 is revealed to look like I may well join in too.
I would like to remark that the time 2 suffers of buttons breaking after a few months. Currently gadgetbridge integrated the support for Pebble 2 so maybe amazfish could integrate it in future, but currently there are no apps for it. I am using pebble time, pebble steel and pebble round since many years: amazfit gtr is the best alternative if HRM are needed on the smartwatch. My Time 2 sits in the desk since 5 years…
Sorry, I mean this one → Get your new PebbleOS watch Core Time 2 (the naming is a bit confusing, as Core should now be replaced with Pebble according to the last newsletter).
new pebble time 2 looks awesome:

Yes, I preordered both models and maybe by the time they arrive my Xperia 10 V will be daily drive able.
