Loom should be played in ega, it has a unique charme with its intended graphic mode 
(edit: i also think dos ega is the only uncut version, but not sure)
if the amiga version has more colors, not sure (probably not compared with dos vga), but it usually wont look much different (amiga could display a lot more colors by manipulating copperlist [lionheart did that], but few games used that).

I am an old fart, and remember I played Loom on my Amiga while my schoolmate played it on PC - which didn’t have a sound card - so using the PC Beeper. Loom of all things - on the Beeper!.
