I finally got this to work so I’m plugging it for other new users. This app syncs files to owncloud and nextcloud and works very well. The current version doesn’t give feedback on login status, so if you enter a wrong username or password it still behaves as if you’re logged in but then tells you the remote path does not exist. In my case I was entering username@pm.me (which should work) instead of username@protonmail.com (which does work). Another source of error is the password which is always invisible, so be careful entering it. I use thegood.cloud in Amsterdam, a great free option and very reasonable paid service. The dev is working on improving the login process and switching paths from nemo to defaultuser.
Hi, Sailsync ownCloud author here. Thanks for the write up.
Just to further clarify the point:
The current version doesn’t give feedback on login status, so if you enter a wrong username or password it still behaves as if you’re logged
The app provides login feedback, but currently there’s a bug where the ownCloud/Nextcloud server instance will return a 200 (and plain HTML) on an auth failure – this confuses the app, which treats it as a successful login. I’m working on resolving this by having my application check the XML of one particular endpoint.
Another source of error is the password which is always invisible
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll turn on showEchoModeToggle
in the next release.
switching paths from nemo to defaultuser.
Note, this is just a path hint, nothing is hardcoded to either user. But I will update the path hint.
Thanks again.
