I just started to ask the app developers which have an app, which is not compatible in the data base to if possible develope a solution.
I gave them a link to the website / their entry to give it a little bit of a punch.
(indicating: “You are in a free and openly available database of free software which says, your app is not working. Sure you want to be in there?”)
Not sure if something like this works, but we will see… at least for some of them this might be a little bit of a motivation. (more or less like CVE database entries, etc. – of cause with less punch, but still)
Best regards

PS: Feel free to join in. Here is my text for an email or contact form for this – feel free to use it for other apps you find there too:
"Dear [-App developer-] team,
SailfishOS is a European alternative mobile operating system from Finland that also allows you to run APK apps – but “only” without Google Services, which is the main idea behind it. (to be more independent from Google)
The community has therefore set up a website on which we tell people about apps and their abillity to run on SailfishOS’s Android App Support.
Your app has also been tested there and is unfortunately no longer/not usable.
This in general means, that your app does not work (usually without good reason) on de-Googled systems such as Lineage OS / e or on Linux-based systems such as SailfishOS.
You can find the corresponding entry in the database here:
[-LINK TO APP ON https://sailfishos.app -]
Perhaps you could pass this information on to the app developers so that they can provide an alternative way of [determining locations (e.g., without Google Maps but with a free system such as OpenStreetMaps, or by entering an address or coordinates in addition to the map service)] / making it work for all users?
Thank you in advance and best regards,
[-Your Name-]"
