Why there is no separate status for app requiring microG/Open GApps to work?

Uh, this is a very great idea

Good job

Hi sanginteret.

Looks very user friendly. I do miss the level of compatibility like in previous topic about that.

Great work!

Is it possible to add more selection? List all nations Jolla phones are sold in? So I for instance can restrict search to Norwegian apps like Yr, Spond, Vipps, Ruter…

It would give Norwegian users a fast and good overview over available Android apps.

Is it an idea to let visitors see what Android apps works with Android 11 and 13? The announced upcoming change?

Thanks for the good work and effort. Please also add ‘works on SailfishOS Browser,’ because not everyone wants to use apps (for example, ING Banking/Targobank/PayPal works in the Sailfish OS Browser).

Hello,

As I have said in the original post, the data is placeholder. Don’t worry, the proper apps will be recommended.

Sorry if it didn’t felt that way.

Would it be possible to list multiple native apps? e.g. We have multiple native youtube clients and navigation apps.

Linked from Compatibilitylist of A... | SailfishOS community wiki thanks!

Hi,

Yes, the main goal is to have one place when someone is searching for SFOS apps. We’re going to get a lot of newcomers in the following months, so let’s make the onboarding smooth. (get it  ).

I think when some setup is required in order to make an app work, the HOWTO should the on the wiki and the link in the report.

I do like the rating bar here Banking Apps | SailfishOS community wiki so I will at some point copy it.

I have implemented some of the feedback:

  • Multi Native Apps display

  • Regional App Selection (needs to be applied to each app)

  • Support With/Without Gapps and MicroG

  • The source code is now linked in the footer

  • Reworked some menus

Thank you all for the suggestions and the early reports!

Still open to more feedback.

Some of the native apps aren’t fully feature complete when compared to the Android app, so maybe ProtonDB-style Platinum, Gold, Silver, Copper -ranking for the native apps?

Very good Initiative!
One Idea: Maybe we could select the Device and SFOS-Version from a List (of already used entries?), when reporting an app status?

And as I do have MicroG installed, i do not know if it is required for the App. I only know, that the app works for me with MicroG installed.

IDEA:

In that case it would be nice if report could be done several time with different “levels” - AAS only, MicroG and GS. Kind of statistics. Same goes to versions and devices.

Are you already able to submit ratings or is this still placeholder UI?

You need to submit a report that includes the rating. Editing the entry itself is no longer possible. That also means, linking the native apps can only be done in comments.

Okay. But how will you „officially“ link the native apps than? Will you from time to time go through the comments, review them and then add those native apps if they are okay recommendations?

Nice idea. Please add the hint to search for the app name in the Aurora store. It’s not necessary and in my opinion preferable to avoid to access and log in to google play store to find that information.

It should also be possible to add more than one native app. For example, there are two very good native Telegram clients for SailfishOS named Fernschreiber and Yottagram, and it’s more a matter of personal taste which one to choose.

That’s already possible. I saw it in the interface, before the permissions were reduced.
