i have now /e/ os since 10 days. you can get an account on their next cloud if you wish to.
1GB is free, then they have plans for 2, 5 etc. euros a month.
so in fact you have a subscribtion …
i do not know why jolla never did try somehting like that.
20.000 users 20 bucks anually = 400.000 euros … that is not nothing.

You have to remember that you have to pay to your admin for maintenance of cloud. You have to have servers to make cloud and so on.
i ve paid for my ocloud 10 bucks a year. and somehow people are making a living out of it.
