Sailfish OS for 'every day' usage

Hi. I’m new to the Forum but have ‘on and off’ been a Sailfish OS user. Started of with the Jolla One but found out after some time that it didn’t meet my needs for ‘every day’ usage. After some time I gave it a new try on a Sony Experia 10. Due to excessive battery drainage (even if left idle with fullt charged battery) it didn’t last for even a day.
Now, I have got a refurbished Sony Experia 10 III and I am thinking of giving Sailfish OS new ‘try’. But, to be able to use it as my ‘every day’ phone there are some Android apps that are essential.
Living in Sweden I have to be able to use the app BankID for e-ID purposes (like logging in to my bank, identifying myself when logging on to swedish authorities, and also more and more websites, and so on…). Likewise there is an app, Swish, used for electronic paying.
Are there any Swedes out there using these apps on Sailfish OS?? As faar as I now both BankID and Swish can only be downloaded from Google Play.

Yes, take a look at this topic’s first post:

You can download them on Aurora Store, which is available on Jolla store. If Jolla store doesn’t have the latest version, you can download it directly on https://auroraoss.com.

I use an Sony Xperia III as my daily phone in Sweden.
I use BankID and Swish downloaded with aurorastore.
Lately i been getting error 114 with BankID every now and then so i need to kill bankid and restart the signing process for it ro work.
If you got 3 or Hallon then mms doesn’t work but if your carrier is something other than that then it works as expected.
Sometimes people ask me why i answer after so many signals even after it just started ringing.
Sometimes it takes too long to snap a picture with the camera so i may miss a Kodak moment.
These are the main quirks that i get on Xperia III in everyday usage.

Currently on C2, but using BankID and Swish from Aurora on both C2 and Xperia 10 II.
Mms is not working on Vimla (Telenor) and my support have stoped answering… Hallon not working either as per above, but Fello seems to work ok. Been switching between different operators, due to good offers, lately so quite resent experience.

I’ve used Sailfish as my daily driver since Jolla One, that is since 12 years. At times a little frustrating but mostly working well.
Now I’m on Xperia 10iii with 4.6.0.15.
Bankid and Swish works fine. So do Freja.
I have had some problems with mms. I’m with 3 in Sweden and doesn’t want to change.
For the moment a trick works 95% of the time when there is problem with sending or downloading mms. Activate flight mode and when disconnected, de-activate it. After re-establishing connection mms works.
Beside that, everything works fine.
In case of needing android-apps, they can be downloaded anonymously or sideloaded as apk-file.

Thank’s for your input. I’ve installed SailfishOS now on my Xperia 10 III following the guideline for installing from Windows. Have dowloaded som Android apps and they seems to do what they should.
BUT: There are apps (BankID one of them) complaining that they need Google Play-services to function. Messsage says “BankID does not work without Google Play-services, whitch are not supported on the device”.
How do I install Google Play-services??

Thank’s for your input. BankID (and some other apps as well) is requesting Google Play-services. How did you install that??

Maybe start here:

This forum does have a search function you can use.

I don’t have MicroG or Google Play-services installed.
BankID displays that message but it still works so i ignore it.
I sometimes get the 144 error to update android WebView but then i close bankid and restart the signing process.

About the MMS i recently changed to Hallon where i have problems with MMS but before that i had Comviq/Tele2 with no problems at all with MMS so it related to the carrier.
