This is precisely what I keep telling people in the fediverse, but most of them still talk about grapheneOS and PostmarketOS.
But SFOS has been getting more attention recently.

Sailfish is awesome! Doesnât mean there arenât things that suck or could be better, youâre fine to criticize it, just try to be constructive.
Posts are called out as AI generated when they are. AI has a very unique writing style thatâs easy to see for some people. And it will be called out, no one wants to read AI spam that brings nothing new to the table.
Welcome back! I am quite new on this forum and have to say that generally conversations are encouraging. I have asked a ton of stupid questions here and generally I have gotten very constructive conversations. But lately there has been quite a lot of AI generated content, which irritates people. Also some topics pop-ups again and again, but I give slack to people from this as it is sometimes hard to find information. At least took time with me.
I think that what this forum could improve is the way we welcome new ideas. Of course I have learned to understand what kind of wishes are remotely realistic in short term but I donât see anything bad with dreaming big ![]()
Asking questions, even if they may seem initially stupid to someone who has used Sailfish for over a decade, is not actually stupid if you are new to the OS and genuinely do not know something.
My problem is when new users come in, have not bothered to read through the forum or even ask any questions, âstupidâ or not, and instead generate walls of text full of advice no one asked for, and that has probably already been discussed to death on the previous dozen occasions this very same thing has happened.
Whatâs up with this thing where anything longer is automatically considered AI? Are you guys using the Polak AI mode on ChatGPT? Complete with ESL spelling, grammar and phrases, plus straightforward opinions that someone here interpreted as âdemandsâ ![]()
To the topic at hand:
Overall there are some good ideas here, even if many (like browser) are âalready being worked onâ (opaque to new users without searching old forum posts and making assumptions). I try to link to existing threads or posts when possible, but then you risk ânecro-ingâ the thread which other people consider bad etiquette.
Iâm adding link to the existing issue tracker here GitHub ¡ Where software is built , which is relevant for things like the browser.
