Just got my new JollaPhone 2026. Very exciting!
For the most part it does everything I need. The big gap is Revolut. When I try to install it from Aurora, it just won’t. Does anyone know a way around this? (Apart from keeping Revolut on an old phone).

It is super-duper hard to get Revolut working on custom Android ROM.
First you need to pass Google Play Integrity in Strong level (Needs fake device attestation)
The second step if the lie everywhere in the App support side, the Revolut APK has special protections that detect keyword related to custom roms.
In theory, it is possible but extremely hard. i have seen user on Reddit using Revolut on LineageOS.
On Sailfish OS it’s unknown territory.

Some people approach forums for the first time when entering Jolla ecosystem, they never had to learn forum practices for android or ios, and the forum doesn’t have a tutorial.

I also can’t get revolut working and it’s a big shame, unfortunately this situation seems to be part of the push from the duopoly to kill alternatives

I dont have a solution I’m afraid, but I also used Revolut as my “travel card” in the past since it had good terms when withdrawing funds when abroad. Since the app is such a hassle to get working, I switched to another card, which surprisingly also had better terms, and the app installs without problems on Sailfish.
The one i chose was Northmill, and is only available in the nordic countries I think, but if you search around I’m sure you can find a better option than Revolut from where you are based also.
“Vote with your feet” sort of, and if/when cancelling be sure to tell them the reason for cancelling the card …

just for saying, i’m using skrill and it does work perfectly on my j2, althought it requires microg installed…
Revolut started blocking “insecure” devices maybe a few months ago. It worked fine with ROMs that have microG and passed SafetyNet (e.g. Calyx OS, iodéOS). Notably, Wise (AKA TransferWise) does seem to work on Sailfish OS, at least if you already have an account. Didn’t test signing up for a new account.

I have taken it myself - but it was really all quite self-evident.
Sfos forum app doesn’t show the tutorial in my experience, and I’m merely suggesting to give new user the benefit of the doubt, after all they can’t be acting self centered if they don’t know an action is self centered.
And we can always move the discussion in the appropriate places after the fact if it generated too much noise!

So just give up and accept duplicates in the 100s? And new users not just making mistakes but also never learning?
People act self-centered without being aware of it all the time. So we point it out to them, politely, in the hope they will see the errror of their ways.
The “polite” thing is sort of a key element there, though. Even at thread 1000. A good alternative is to just keep your mouth shut, maybe block the offending threads from your view if you really can’t stomach them and go on with your day instead of being a grumpy git that is at least as annoying as the initial thread. I’m not addressing you personally at all, by the way.
As to the threads core issue: I second the suggestion of voting with your feet. If only because you can’t win the cat and mouse game that goes on with the banks that have a problem with non-google/-apple environments. Some function will break at the worst possible moment and it will result in real problems sooner or later. I used to be interested in fancy Fintech stuff as well but over the years, I’ve realized that with my customer profile, I’m much better served by a “boring” regular bank. Ideally, one with at least some ethical principles against investing in stuff that kills too many trees and children (such as GLS or EthikBank here in Germany).
