[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.77

Works good for me !!! Thanks !

The extra calendars were correctly cleaned up for me.

On a non-related note, the EAS plugin didn’t work on the first boot after updating (it didn’t sync). I restarted the phone once again and then it worked immediately.

Maybe. Those might even be from a different account which was removed already long time ago. This is an old device… Nevertheless, I am aware how those could be removed with sqlite magic, I just can’t be bothered. I’m just waiting for the Jolla Phone to arrive so this device can be retired

The upgrade went fine, but my Calendar now won’t start. It spins for a bit, then disappears. I have no Microsoft accounts on my C2. The calendar was working well before the upgrade…wish I hadn’t installed it, now.

Upgrade went fine, but I am experience severe power management issues on my C2 (HW ver 2.0.0.59) since then:
PROBLEM: Some hours (today about 3hrs, but also some 5 or 8 hrs in the days after the upgrade) after disconnecting the USB-C power supply the phone suddenly shuts down and can only be rebooted properly after a power is connected.

Today this happend some tens of minutes after I observed the battery indicator in the top of the screen indicating a battery level of the order of 90%, so it drained very quick, very suddenly.
After that I had no access to a power supply (on a 5 hour hike through a forest) but I tried to reboot it a couple of times to gather some phenomenology:
Common behaviour: the phone shut down every time after typing the device pin twice and the sim pin.

  1. time the first indicated power level was 8%, which dropped to 5% suddenly and the device told me “goodby”.
  2. second time after waiting (hiking, without connection to ANY power supply) a couple of minutes, first display of the power level was of order 38% (?!?) but after the 3 PIN-entries the device mentioned an empty battery and told “goodby” again.
  3. After some 20-30 minutes the battery indicator claimed 50% initially, which changed to 45% after the PINs but some seconds later the “goodby” shut down occurred again.

So it feels as if the calibration of the battery level sensor is broken after the upgrade.
Or some process suddenly drains a lot of power (for no good reason since I have not exeprienced this issue before this release) and no power management process steps in to kill this.

Please help!

Hmm, this seems more like a HW issue to me. But I don’t want to scare you as I might be wrong.

Can you report battery voltage and current with battery log or similar app? That might tell more about voltage detection? Especially if there are rapid changes there.

But open a separate thread as I’m pretty sure it has nothing with the SFOS update.

Installed Battery Log half an hour before a new occurrence.

Created a Bug report and linked an uploaded sqlite-file from Battery Log to it.

First battery Log I found was on the Open Repos, v 1.3.3. seemed Predating the C2.
In the battery-log-and-amazfit-do-not-work-on-sfos-4 I found a link to a newer version that I was able to download from:

Now the screen is giving more info, but I was wondering whether there is an updated location where this information is shared?
Aka instead of battery log | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System that seems to be abandoned at the end of 2023?

I do not maintain that package actively. I can do updated builds if someone submits a PR.
But I believe for monitoring SystemDatascope is the better tool, and for viewing and managing charging information, Battery Buddy.

thanks for the info. I actually got it wo work again after enabling VoLTE. it did not register after I started it. the dot was blinking. so i restarted. then the dot got locked in and sms sending worked after that. the solution from mal too far away from may knowledge of the system. i am not too deep in programming or working with the terminal…

Still looses sound after a while. Not as fast as before but still. Not nice if anyone calls and you do not hear. Xperia 10III

No reply yet from the Zendesk about my degraded battery performance.

I also sent them a couple of rrd-files from SystemDataScope with data that was collected during a couple of sudden shutdowns.

Hope the error is SW, like an accidental wrong calibration somewhere in a battery charge monitor subsytem.
But it is a bit annoying to carry an extra power pack to revive the phone regularily.

They wrote they have a few weeks backlog.
