Not sure if this works all the time but when Android apps lack internet connection I open the SFbrowser, open a page, turn back to the Android app and it works. Most of the time…
And, yes, it has to do with the switching on of the wifi.
I have the same problems like the two guys who wrote before. Additional I have still the problem that no audio is possible with android telephony apps like satelitte, a voip app which I need to use.
commands to restart pulse/network/android/wifi:
systemctl --user restart pulseaudio
sudo systemctl restart ofono
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:path=/run/user/100000/dbus/user_bus_socket systemctl --user restart appsupport
sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=net.connman /net/connman/technology/wifi net.connman.Technology.SetProperty string:"Powered" variant:boolean:false
note: sudo
above is a stand-in for however you do root. e.g.: run those commands in a devel-su terminal and drop sudo. i personally use sudo, and have added these commands to sudoers NOPASSWD.

here are some links for how i actually use these (listing just for your reference. these are all my personal tools and may require assembly which is not described):
- hardware button shortcuts: GitHub - teleshoes/sf-button-monitor: Add actions to hardware buttons on Sailfish OS
- cli wrapper around appsupport+lxc: sx-config/CONFIG_FILES/bin/ad at master · teleshoes/sx-config · GitHub
- command that lists all the fixes i routinely do in a terminal (most call other scripts in this same dir) sx-config/CONFIG_FILES/bin/fix at master · teleshoes/sx-config · GitHub
On my Xperia 10 III also after this update to 5.0.0.67 I still face random total loss of audio.
The phone calls are not possible to make, both outcoming and incoming. The phone is completely deaf, also not playing music in Media.
And what is really terrible, the Phone app stops responding during phonecall and than start call without my intervention, which I cannot stop it. I had to hard reset it by pressing all 3 buttons…
After restart I can make a few phone calls without problems, but than it appears again and again…
The phone is not usable, I have moved back to my XA2 which works like charm.
One person’s unfortunate issues doesn’t make SailfishOS dead…
I enjoy using mine with no issues.
I think, there is a bug in SFOS implementation for Xperia 10 III of Phone App or the network subsystem or whatever.
Not only the random loss of audio is here, but also SMS cannot be sent without switching VoLTE off.
10 III running on previous 5.0.0.61 has the same issues.
Btw. jorvikku mentioned it in Release highlights: [quote=“jovirkku, post:1, topic:22916”]
Random loss of audio after phone calls is fixed or alleviated by fixing a crash in ngfd.

But evidently the problem persisted.
My Xperia XA2 work fine on the latest revision 5.0.0.67.
oh yea, this happens to me all the time (i.e.: roughly 2x per week). restarting pulseaudio is always sufficient to fix it.
systemctl --user restart pulseaudio
i haven’t isolated a specific use case that causes it reliably, but i feel like it involves connecting+disconnecting from bluetooth audio devices while using the phone app and android apps.
(one time, i did have a circumstance where pulseaudio was borked even after restarting it. it felt like a different case than this one, and restarting lipstick was enough to fix it without a full reboot)
Magic earth crashes, or just circles endlessly.
Cant say if it is related to c2 or sfos 5
Update: at home with wifi on i was able to start magic earth
So it s related to mobile connection
A bug? There’s a lot of bugs not only on 10III but all of the Xperias and Jolla phones. Time goes by and they wont be fixed!! Soon they’ll probably make a BIG announcement they’ll start working on the next Xperia.
Forgetaboutit…
Hopefully Russia starts selling Aurora devices abroad.
I don’t think that this is related to C2 or SFOS 5.x but more a microG configuration mismatch. My MagicEarth (currently running v7.1.25.18) is working just fine on C2 even though I prefer PureMaps (working again well in online setup) for navigation etc. Eventually you might check the settings of your microG. Also, in Aurora there is a mentioning that MagicEarth is requiring Google-Play-Services to fully functioning. However this app is fortunately not using any trackers.
I’ve recently encountered an audio malfunction state once where pulseaudio restart failed to restore functionality. Only reboot ended up helping.
So if someone claims they are experiencing such, I now might believe them.
I do not know if this is related. But I have the problem if a call ended and I forget to click the little X fast enough in the corner to close the call menu… the call stays active even in the live window I see that the call is still “on” but no more seconds are counted and the end call button do not work. Even closing the phone App, restarting the home screen does not change the behavior. The biggest problem is that I am not able to do another call because calling is blocked by another call. But if somebody calls me I am able to pick up and call again if I end the call “right”. I will try to restart the pulseaudio services the next time. Only a restart helped. During restart I have the problem that every second time I am hanging in an endless decryption cycle that never ends. Several restarts to get back into my phone. If you need to do a fast call and this scenario happens you can need around 15-20 minutes to make that call. I hope the next Update delivers a solution.
i am not using microG
seems that without network magic earth wont start up
In that situation ofono restart helps my C2.
Thanks. Unfortunately for me not. Are you using the nofono app? seems like nothing happens when I restart telephony services with nofono.
This issue I had with my Xperia X too. Sometimes, but annoying.
I don’t know nofono app. Or what do you meam by that. I restart ofono service in CLI if I notice that Phone app shows that phone call didn’t end.
which command are you using? here is a link to nofono but it seems not to work: Nofono | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System
devel-su systemctl restart ofono.service
Thank you for tips! I am using SFOS from 2018, started with Xperia X, than XA2, but now I have moved to 10 III, and I was quite happy with the performance. It was for me a big leap hardware wise. And than it shocked me, I took it some Monday into work as a new daily driver and suddenly had big troubles making just, I mean JUST phone calls and sending SMS.
You know, I am used to have troubles with apps all the time and that not everything is working, but “on Gods green Earth” I just need to make phone calls. Nothing less I expect from the phone:-)
It can cost your life, instead of making a call, I need to restart or typing commands in Terminal…
I am big fan of Jolla and hope in next release it will be fixed.
And as I wrote, my XA2 worked normaly on this latest release, the troubles came on 10 III.
