You missed nothing, i typoed 5.1 and meant 5.0.0.68 (thats what i last upgraded to which fixed my crashing issues).
I pulled the XA2 out of my drawer again. Was able to symlink libpsl.so and that was enough to get pkcon and ssu working again. After freeing up more space on the root partition, I reran the 5.0.0.55 update with ssu and then subsequently updated to 5.0.0.68 from the GUI ![]()
Is there any offical statement on Appsupport on the 10 V? These release notes state, that it’s not available. This topic offers Appsupport in a weird and unclear way. And now comes reality: I have a license for my XA2, installed Sailfish OS on my 10 V yesterday and Appsupport works.
I’m confused.
Well, this release note is from 30.01.25 and the announcements is from 13.05.25. I don’t know why should you be confused. Even the latest version is not 5.0.0.55, but 5.0.0.68 (on a X10 II).
The topic you linked is an official statement from Raine Mäkeläinen (Chief Engineer at Jolla). Jolla officially announced AppSupport is available for Sony Xperia 10 IV and 10 V, and you confirmed that it works. I don’t know what’s so confusing.
Okay, my confusion is with the forum, then. I clicked on “Announcements”, sorted by “Latest” and the upmost release notes that came up were these. Without looking at the date I assumed that these were the latest release notes. Obviously it’s “latest activity” and not “latest original publication”.
Yeah, it’s been a while since I tracked SFOS versions because my XA2 broke and SFOS for 10 V wasn’t ready. Thanks for the hint.
App support is currently being offered for free for Xperia 10 IV & V as some sort of compensation for the fact that those phones are still unusable as daily drivers, although they are theoretically “supported”.
