[Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.55

Same here on a 10 V, first update try and reboot after downloading did not update, only reboot.
With second try reboot and then upgrade to .55 worked flawless then

IIRC it always wanted at least 50% battery.

No, 4.6.0 is a “stop release”: IIRC you can upgrade from any version of a “stop release” to the next release (at least this is how it was in the past), though @jovirkku explicitly stated otherwise for 4.6.05.0.0 using the GUI updater.

Technically there is no reason why one should first install the last version of a “stop release” before upgrading to the next release; but do not omit installing any version of each “stop release” in an upgrade path, or your SailfishOS installation will be harmed (i.e. needs to be reflashed).

updated my Xperia10II from terminal (via ssh) OSM Scout server v3.1.0-1.8.1.jolla was not removed, PureMaps v3.3.0-1 (offline maps) works without any change, both installed via Chum

btw: everything works fine like on previous version (4G, VoLTE, bt, wifi, sms …) :+1:

This does not make sense. It would make the concept of stop releases obsolete. Take a look
Releases | Sailfish OS Documentation and Updating Sailfish OS | Sailfish OS Documentation

@olf is wrong, everybody must install each stop release

the links you attached are exact and correct

for others who are confused:
in short: the outdated device must be updated in this way: from STOP ( 4.4.0.72) to STOP (4.5.0.25) to STOP (4.6.0.15) and finally to recent release (5.0.0.55 or to the next stop in the line what will be released in the future) …complete version history is here: Releases | Sailfish OS Documentation each stop release is marked as bold

next stop version in line is also clearly described in release notes for example [Release notes] Sauna 4.6.0.11 :

Stop release

4.6.0.15 is a stop-release.

Now that I have put the SIM card in the slot 2 during the duplicate, the mobile data also go with Android

Gets an error on my 10III, that the update did not succeeded.
Here after the android support not working.
After running version --dup, the phone is working again with version 4.16.0.15

I have updated both my C2s. On the second phone, mobile data doesn’t work in Android apps and I can’t send SMS. The only difference from the working phone is a different service provider and VoLTE is not enabled.

Dim…hmm… i took off Display–Adjust automatic brightness and it came a bit bright

I restored backup which was made before updating to 5.0.
Backup is 4.6 but when I check Xperia 10 lll has still 5.0.

Phone is useless because sms is not working.

With the Xperia 10 II, SMS sending also does not work
Congstar (Telekom Germany) VOLTE is not activated

I have the same issue :frowning:

you should mention your service provider
Xperia10II sms sending receiving works (Vodafone CZ

oh sorry, Congstar (Telekom Germany) VOLTE is not activated

I have a suspicion that this bug may also perhaps be telco dependent. Here in the UK on my 10 iii on ‘EE’ I’ve had this issue across many recent SFOS releases (though not so far on 5.0.0.55 - but it has only been a day on this release!), but on my XA2 Plus on ‘3’ I’ve never had this issue. When I tried, a while back, swapping SIMs between the phones, the non-connectivity problem followed the SIM. I appreciate these are 2 different phones, but when I took my XA2 abroad to Portugal last year and connected through a different telco, the problem appeared on this phone as well, whereas it was fine in the UK. Maybe this explains why some people have this issue and others don’t?

Hello,
my update went well (XA2), however after the update one of my two sim cards is not recognized any more. It uses the net of 1&1 Drillisch in Germany. The sim slot is not affected. I can switch the sim cards without a problem. After reboot there is a notification “Sim Card ist nicht eingerichtet” (Sim Card is not set up). Should I issue a bug report or are there any hints, how to solve the problem. I did try:

devel-su
systemctl stop ofono
rm -rf /var/lib/ofono/*
reboot

but it didnt help. I can provide ofono logs it that helps.

Did you try to disable and reenable one SIM manually?

Something like that I experience on C2 from the start (not yet on 5.0.0.55) and I strongly suspect enabled PIN on startup. Didn’t try to turn it of yet.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t help. In settings, I enabled Enter PIN, I rebooted, nothing changed, I removed the sim manually, rebooted, turned sim into the phone, rebooted again. It asks for the Pin, I can enter, but Sim still shows as unregistered in settings (mobile connections)

Question to the 10V experts… Is the battery consumption so catastrophic with you (even in idle mode)…?
