Yes this patch I meant unfortunately in Storeman you can’t install it …I guess since it’s officially not compatible with 5.x. Installing directly works though.
Great should have tried it earlier.
Anyway I saw now that the setting was indeed at 100% which stresses the speaker even. Should be set to 80% at least by default.
On upgrading from 5.0.0.29 to 5.0.0.43 my C2 hangs on “One moment…” screen.
Scenario I got there
- I checked for Sailfish update on my C2
- Downloaded update
- proceeded with update however popup appeared that my battery is to low to proceed (which is weird because battery had about 80% of capacity)
- I connected USB-C cable to charging port
- C2 (rebooted?) went to screen “One moment…” and nothing else happen. My C2 is in this state all the time
Ok, I decided to Power Off / Power On the device after night.
C2 booted to 5.0.0.29
I tried to update C2 again but this time with USB charger connected. This time update went fine
Now I’m on 5.0.0.43. I suspect that connecting USB-C cable during the update introduces some issues.
I think they use a mixture of O2 (EPlus) for 4G and their own 5G network (which cannot be used by the C2).
Instructions for updating the bootloader (if needed) and flashing the C2 with the fastboot flasher.
Update went well.
Backlight is still very weak on reboot for installation, so keypad is barely visible (for encryption key).
I just did the upgrade to 5.0.0.43 before traveling in Europe. Updating and backup to sdcard went without issues. Now the C2 feels mature except the video recording (I use Aperture Android app as replacement for now) all other issues seemed to be solved. MicroG is kinda working but some apps still complain about Google Play missing but my banking app is usable. Thanks for getting the 4G VoLTE call receiving to function! Also, I’m amazed how fast the C2 is getting mobile network connection after disabling flight mode. Thank you Jollyboys for the hard work and happy holidays!
How did you get MicroG working my Banking app still tell Im missing Google Play Services and spoofing still doesn’t work and I tried all tips I found here in the forum and in the official doc?
I use an older version (0.2.27) of microG, same I have on my Xperia 10 III, no problems with this. For the installation of microG on C2, I followed flypic’s thread. I dare to update microG as it’s working well now.
Please run the “Light sensor” test in the CSD test app.
- go to Settings > About product
- tap “Build” 5 times => CSD app opens up
- tap “All tests”
- tap “Light sensor” and wait for a few seconds. The result (Pass/Fail) will appear on the last line.
- repeat the test several times, also after restarting the phone
Light sensor tests pass after a fresh boot, reporting values between 23 and 16383. Adaptive brightness works, too, maybe the adjustment range appears a bit narrow to me.
I have run CSD tests now and then since I received the phone, and I don’t seem to remember the Light sensor ever failing. (Other tests have and still do.) My intuition would be that the on-boot behaviour/state is more relevant for this specific problem, than whatever happens during phone use, but I will keep an eye on this during the day.
Update went ok .29 → .43. But now I have no cellular network what so ever. Previously when you selected 2G then it connected to 4G and then dropped to 2.5G, now nothing. Pin code is asked OK and for short period of time I can see sim cards in the Settings but then it vanishes. Any ideas?
Maybe this was just user error. After several tries, I put the SIM to slot 2 and booted - suddenly I was able to connect to 4G. Put it back to slot 1 and now I can connect with that too, Nevertheless, something was wrong as I did not see any SIM cards in the settings for a while (so it was not just registering to network taking too long).
(edited)
Nope, after 5 minutes network is gone again.
I used the test application and it says:
Fail (red color)
Modem count: 1 (expected 2)
SIM 1
Cellular modem available: true
Modem serial: 358…
SIM present: true
Card identifier: 893…721
MCC: 244
MNC: 12
Subscriber identity: 244…
Subscriber numbers: N/A
Can you post flypig’s thread here? I can’t find it when I search it. Maybe I missed smth that is described in it.
AppSupport is behavioring oddly. After closing one Android app and opening other. It will first opens last closed app. After closing it and re-opening new, it will open correct app. After re-start it works fine, but in some point it comes back.
Have the same issue after update to 5.0.0.43
Thank you for this (latest) update. It is now my daily driver for web and messanging (mail, instant messaging, calendar, web). I still have my old phone for things like banking.
I don’t know why, but although the latest VoLTE stack had not worked at the beginning (texting), it is now really stable.
Update was fine for me, but it took me a couple of tries and a reboot (no visible download progress).
For now, only using French SIM card (I’m in Finland)…4G VoLTE does not register (keeps blinking) but calls in/out are ok.
Most important for me is calls filtering with Fr SIM. Could someone confirms if it is supposed to be working with 5.0.0.43? As for now, all filtered calls seem to be getting through…
–Update–
Using Finnish SIM card, block numbers is working…thinking now my issue could be linked to the Fr SIM not being registered while roaming (???)
