Ouch. If you go the reflash route, there is not a downloadable 5.1 image yet. But you can go back to 5.0 and attempt the OTA update again to see if the problem reappears
Sometimes it takes time after boot. Or several reboots are necessary.

after update to 5.1.0.8, 5.1.0.10 email account with domain “mail.ru’ stopped work, but few other email domains work. I try recreate accounts: “mail.ru” doesn’t work.
p.s. purchase in jolla store stopped work with “mail.ru” domain few years ago
I don’t think so ! There are issues with Yahoo also, and they are due to authentication issues, XOAUTH2 not being supported.

@ExTechOp I also have the tone out screen set at 30 secs and noticed the same. It managed to do all kinds of bad things before I realised it never blanked not even from phone call with head proximity, so my ear did a lot of deleting etc, not to mention the pocket calling/texting the selection … Setting the value “lpm” for powerkey-blanking again at least make it “blank” on press but not in the way that device lock setting “lock on blank” can kick in as before so it never locks with that setting now. I had to set device lock to “lock 1 minute”, but that is way too long compared to previously working usecase press the powerkey button and the device is locked immediately.
i have 2 email account from “mail.ru” service with 2 different domains. domain “mail.ru” no longer work, but “internet.ru” work. this domains doesn’t have some differences in protocol, etc. only name
about Russophobia:
few years ago (~2017 - 2019) I send request wia email to tech support from “mail.ru” account. they doesn’t answer me
New set-up on 10V only worked when I also filled the Calender Path. In my case “/dav/calendars/username/” that caused two overlaying error messages with a spinning circle but after restart of the Settings app, the account was working, but the Calendar Path field empty again. weird but working for me on both phones
I recieved perfect care from zendesk last year with a @mail.ru email.

Remove and readd the account, it’ll work again.
I try it with 5.1.0.8 and 5.1.0.10 versions few times.I try it via mobile internet, wifi and 2 vpn via wifi.
2 others email account doesnt have troubles, only “mail.ru” domain
Let’s not get paranoid, and let’s debug this issue.
Can you trigger a sync and then get the log from the journal ?
devel-su journalctl -ar
