One interesting fact: the update keeps on showing on my xperia 10 Ii (i.e. the update notification is there, as well as the update ready to be downloaded), despite the fact I have it already installed.
5.1.0.7 or 5.1.0.8? There was another update in the meantime.
@elkiaer What are you on about? Are you trying to say there is a regression (lost functionality) in SFOS 5.1?
Huh you are right; I installed 5.1.0.8 already, but its still showing .7 as currently installed. Wouldnt have noticed it failing the install tho. Will try again
Yes, isn’t this thread about 5.1.0.8?
What must be corrected before the final release.
It would still help if you actually, explicitly, stated that. These threads are often full of random off-topic stuff.
The symptoms of the first problem sounds a lot like a config problem on your end - and without a “this still works on XYZ other devices” i’d not blame anyone for passing it off as such barely even checking.
Works perfectly fine for me (10 III). ![]()
After the update I’m having problems on Xperia 10 III with file picker in Firefox (Release/Beta/Nightly for android). When I open a page and do something that tries to open a file picker (for example, click the “Browse…” demo button on MDN), the browser just closes. Pretty sure it was not the case a few weeks ago, so the existence of this problem on all channels including Release likely indicates the update had something to do with it.
X10III needed forced reboot.
I use bluetooth headsets many hours a day and it did work fine after the upgrade and i haven’t installed appsupport bluetooth yet.
When i used a bluetooth headset with andriod signal app i did get a loud sound in the headset that was constant so i needed to turn of headset and kill the app.
After that i can’t get sound in any of my bluetooth headset anymore, not in native nor android apps.
I tried removing .config/pulse and reboot but that didn’t fix it.
Edit: My third headset did work so i repaired the my main headset and it started to work again, haven’t tried it with signal yet since it did hurt my ears last time.
Now all my headsets work again.
Concerning the issue with the openvpn and internet sharing, I have found out why I have the connection issue.
If the Roaming is set to “Do not allow” I have the issue, but when setting it to “Always on” it works as its ment to. An If-sentence may correct it ![]()
And congratulations to the world championship yesterday to Suomi, Jolla/Sailfish OS hopefully will reach the same heights.
Google account seem to require new authentication. That can be done normally but does not help. Have to try that account re-adding. Jolla C2 with 5.1.0.8.

Seams that some rewrite rules are not followed via UI like in command line version?
Thanks, indeed there was a small glitch. Fix calculating effective location mode. by pvuorela · Pull Request #54 · sailfishos/nemo-qml-plugin-systemsettings · GitHub
@elkiaer does mobile data otherwise work when you have roaming disabled?
Hi @tanriol
This is an unfortunate side-effect of some change regarding the Android app permissions. You need to clear the permissions on the browser apps and re-enable them again. Then they should start working again with file uploads.
It is not recommended to use wg-quick. The tools are there but using them is it at your own risk. There is the WireGuard VPN plugin for ConnMan that you should use. It can import the config from standard WireGuard configuration files.
EDIT: on what device this happens? It might be that the kernel does not have wireguard support as the protocol is not known.
I have used wg-quick only to see what is going on after I was unable to connect via connman vpn. Connman vpn has been working before update.
All I can see in VPN manager is endless switching “Idle” and “Problem with connection”.
Sounds unlikely as I did not have the release version installed before the SailfishOS update - I specifically installed it to check whether it works after Nightly/Beta failed to work.
I’ve just tried installing another firefox-based browser that I’m sure had never been installed on this phone (Firefox Focus). After clicking the file input it asked me for camera permission and then closed (crashed?). I hope you don’t mean that bad permissions on some Android apps can cause problems in other Android apps?..
Ok, right. Then what model is your phone where this occurs? From the last message it seems obvious that kernel does lack some support.
Then this is something else I’ve been experiencing.
I don’t think this is the case. The permissions should not be shared between apps nor they should affect each other.
@keto
Yes the mobile data is working.
