Q: Browser - How can I change the order of the browser bookmarks?

How can I change the order in what the browser bookmarks are displayed?

At the moment they are displayed cronologically as they were stored, oldest bookmarks on top of the list, latest on the end.

How can I set some newer bookmarks more up or to top, independent from the cronology when they were stored?

It looks like it could be as easy as changing the order of the entries in ~/.local/share/org.sailfishos/browser/bookmarks.json but I haven’t tried it.

No, there are only 3 of my 45 browser bookmarks listed.
edit: I tried on a Volla phone.

edit: all bookmarks here, see post #6

Hmm. That file on my volla has all of my bookmarks. Editing it does indeed change the order or the entries.

In ‘theory’ the bookmarks could be in the places sqlite file, but I looked and didn’t find them:

sqlite3 .local/share/org.sailfishos/browser/.mozilla/places.sqlite

requires a bit of SQL knowledge.

It IS the file
~/.local/share/org.sailfishos/browser/bookmarks.json .

File was truncated when earlier viewing it with File browser. Now i checked again with CLI & VI editor → voilá, all bookmarks here.

It is important to mention that the bookmaks.json file just appear in that directory when you at least add one own new bookmak to the 4 jolla-links still present!
