[Proposal] Inari Blue TOH LED for notifications

There should be two action steps in the example flow, one that turns the LED on and one that turns it off again.

It’s apparently also several LEDs, and if one is not careful when setting the registers, it’s possible to glitch the driver into turning just some of them on.

I believe the turn on action also sets a different pattern besides turning it on. I had to use your python script to get it back to default lol.

It’s indeed setting it’s own pattern but this change is not persistent, e.g. switching the LED on from the top menu overwrites anything that’s already stored in the TOH with Jolla’s original pattern.

D’you think it might be possible to contact the LEDs individually and have them light up in patterns?

I haven’t found a way yet other than the timing glitch I caused a few times resulting in only the J lighting up. But it was not something I was able to reproduce at will.

Seems like after the last SfOS update, the service has moved to a user unit toh-leds.service. It no longer responds to the kill signals, the quick menu toggle now instead stops and masks or unmasks and starts this service.

I used to use the kill signal code bits in Situations to turn off the Inari Blue for night time automatically, what would be the correct code with the changes to turn it on and off?

/usr/libexec/toh/blinker breathing
/usr/libexec/toh/blinker off

Or do what the button does : unmask and start, or stop and mask the service over systemd DBus.

Thank you very much!

Hi @cypherpunks, thanks for toh_led_pattern.py (post #17 in this thread). I built a small notification service around it: it blinks the Inari Blue TOH LED for new mails and SMS until the notification is read, with a Patchmanager settings page to set the pattern per message type. I’d like to publish it as an RPM for the community. Could you tell me under which license your script is available, and whether I may include a modified copy of it in the package (with credit to you)? If you prefer, I can also leave it out and make the package depend on your original. One note in case it helps others: on my device, after the latest update, the script fails at new_device with “Device or resource busy”, because an aw2023 client at 0x45 on i2c-13 already exists. My modified copy skips new_device/delete_device and uses I2C_SLAVE_FORCE (0x0706) instead, and that works with the TOH switch on. Thank you, Best

It’s a super simple script, I didn’t even consider it needed a license
You can see it as public domain and do whatever you like with it.

I have a similar use case with my app: Inari Blue Notifier | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System

Right now only calls, but notifications, sms and email are coming soon.
