In case this is technically feasable, I would love to see a mod to enhance the overall shitty reception of the jolla phone by adding an antenna in TOH. For wlan and mobile.

Itâs not feasible.
Itâs probably also a non issue.
Mainly is just to low presentation of signal strength. Unless you document here true low dBm level and high error levels.

Is not the full picture. Yes, there are some bugs with signal strength presentation, but ulso bad reception in comparison with other smartphones an same places. not only 5g but also WLAN have lack of reception. Also JP2 need very long time to switch from one access point to other in my mesh network. All this needs improvements.

I can hardly make a phone call at home, with previous phones I had no problem.
Same for wlan: with all phones and devices I have a wlan signal in the conplete flat, Jolla does not even find it in two rooms.

Do you mean, if that is not documented in a bug report, then the problem not exist? 
That is exactly what that bug report is about. The issue is not âphone says 4G but itâs really 5Gâ; the issue is that some Jolla phones genuinely cannot connect to 5G, and thus cannot get 5G speeds, in places where other phones with the same SIM on the same provider can.

Yes exactly. And we need to know, how to proceed with that issue. Just send the phone back and hope for solution? Or can it be solved with software update?
I reread whole thread and it doesnât talk about signal strenght.
Thereare a lot of factors that affect 5G or 4G connectivity so reducing it to signal strength is big oversimplification.

NOT at all. No clue how you concluded that. It means that probability of the fix is lower.
I highly doubt that itâs HW issue. Maybe for some rare cases. Technologies for 4G and 5G are very complex. It took some time for Jolla to fix VoLTE for C2 for all the operators. Iâm pretty sure that in their own theyâll improve JP connectivity too.

This could (also) be because your previous phones used VoWiFi to route the call through WLAN instead of through the mobile network, and VoWiFi isnât supported on Sailfish. Hopefully one day in the future, but I wouldnât count on it anytime soon.
Your WLAN reception issues sound very frustrating, but I highly suggest following @filip.kâs advice to âdocument here true low dBm level and high error levelsâ. You can install âWiFi Analyser [fork]â from Storeman, which will give a good overview of the signals your phone is receiving. Feel free to take screenshots and edit out the network names and IDs. Make sure you also mention how far away from the router you took those screenshots, if there was anything in between the phone and the router, like an object or a wall, and last but not least the router model. That will make it easier to determine the cause of the problem, and how it might be solved.

True, a stronger antenna solving the issue is speculation as no cause has been found that Iâve seen.

There is also no way to plug it in. Why would anyone even assume there is? (Especially in a way that is robust enough for a TOH).

I added a bigger antenna to my meshtastic device and it got much better. Perhaps this could work with the jolla phone, too.â
Sorry, I angered the fan boys with mentioning some critique of the belived device AND having a possibly stupid idea to solve it. (Or impossible, but I did (do) not know this.)

I donât care one bit about your critique about the reception. Most of it is probably the signal indicator misreading anyway. You can have that opinion all you want, but donât get all worked up over assuming things i never said.
What the pins do is perfectly googlable - you not putting in the work is not a reason to get angry.

Jolla phone and all modern phone to be sold in many continents use multiple band. Itâs really really difficult to create a great antenna for all bands they support. Besides it must not influence the reception of BT, GPS/Glonass/Baidu, WiFi antennas too much. And off course the rest of electronics.
For now I2C but with the new sub-board I3C communication. Several orders of magnitude slower then GHz. So nowhere near the capacity needed even if it would be technically feasible.

True. I was not aware of that. I naivly hoped that this still could somehow be done with the pins available.
What can you use to monitor your cellular signal strength? I half expected to see in AIDA64, but noâŚ
