Unfortunately it doesn’t run properly on this old beater phone.
WiFi doesn’t work at all, Bluetooth sucks when trying to connect to something like Bose Headphones, GPS hardly gets any usable Signals….. Otherwise the OS looks interesting and fresh.
I have been using UT and Graphene, they ran ok with all the hardware enabled.
Maybe i did something wrong installing it? Help on this topic will be appreciated.
I signed up for the new Jolla phone and hopefully i am not making a mistake.
Was your starting Android version 9? Otherwise, you won’t have the WiFi drivers. I just did this and I couldn’t get it to work with Android 10 until I tried version 9.

The GPS on that phone is very old. While using Google Services Location you don’t notice it, but for “pure GPS” experience it’s missing GALILEO support.
. 10 was already on it. It took me a while to get everything set up the way i like it.That would probably mean to reinstall Android again in order to get the proper drivers. I was thinking of getting maybe another used phone and do it properly. I prepaid for the new jolla phone already.
this xperia phone has a nice bigger screen that why i am using it.
I’m having problems with sailfish os on an 10 plus to. I started with downgrading android 10 to android 9. Installation went good. I got gps, wifi and bluetooth working. But its very unstable. Sometimes the phone doesn’t react when i type or pick up a phone. Sometimes bluetooth looses connection with the carkit. Etc etc It looks like the xperia 10 plus is to old for running sailfishos 5 in a propper way.
i bought this old phone to get used to sailfish os while i’m waitimg for the delivery of the new Jolla phone.
so i hope the new jolla phone is more stable. but i have good faith
I am using SFOS on Xperia 10 plus daily and i don’t have any of those issues. The only thing i can complain is the battery life but this phone as a poor battery to begin with.
….as it turned out, i dowgraded to vers.9 ,and voilá, everything works like a charm.WiFi,Tethering, GPS all ok now.One problem remains. After a phonecall i lose Network for a minute or two. otherwise it looks adhequit.
I just found out that when making calls, if set to 3G only, the service runs normally without losing the Network. So 4G is out of the question until the problems are solved .Lets hope developing reads this message ! Kap’La!
I downgraded to 9 also and everythin works ok exept when making calls on 4G. The right after the phone loses the Network fir 2-3 minutes.Very annoying.
But as it turned out when setting the phone to 3G service, i dont lose the Network at all.
WiFi, Bluetooth, Tethering and everything else works reliably.
