I also ask myself the longest time yet, why Jolla doesn’t simply sell 2 products with 2 licences. So every user could register one free licence for the pure SFOS for supported or whatever devices without AAS, and apart from this a second paid licence for extra AAS, word suggestions and the other licenced stuff. Paid licence should grant the right to use the software with any device without support and at own risk.
SFOS is sold anyway ‘without any guarantee’, so what?
It was talked over many times already, no point in bringing it back. It’s complicated and offers no profit for jolla so no point, also license is complicated
Everything they sell need to be running 100%. If they sell something, and it wouldn’t run on Port XY, what than? The user would have the right to get his money back. Thats the problem…
Too much hassle to carry all the time two phones with me. Have done it in past and won’t go back to that if I choice. Plan is to buy C2 as toy phone to get feeling of Sailfish current state. Probably will daily drive it for week-month or so and give honest feedback after that. But in long term I am sure I will not carry two phones with me.
Good idea, and there is Waydroid that runs on ports without Jolla AAS.
op6 (another one of my ports) has ability to run waydroid if thats enough for you (and its way better than any port jolla can offer)
and ports can run aliendalvik you just… have to try hard enough
Well Linux Phone is more important for me than the Android phone. So i use Sailfish as a daily driver. Android phone is just a backup phone for me. Its always good to have a second phone, when the first has a flat battery. So from this point of view i have no problem to take 2 phones with me
Thanks for the hint but have no device for this at the moment. Old + paid licenced Xperia 10’s running fine. Sorry for my chitchat.
So close to dominating top 3! I just need op6 users to wake up lol and then top 3 will be just my ports
Again, who votet for “Other” Port. Please make a comment with exact model name. Thanks
@Fellfrosch @mir57 @Morc @nephros @Sharks
I’m waiting still for a firmware update so that the Camera will work with SF. But I have a Volla Quintus waiting to be flashed with piggz’s port.
OnePlus 7T Pro (hotdog) as mentioned before :))
I voted for other - I use Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus with 5.0.0.55
Indeed, this is @Mister_Magister `s show…
Xiaomi Pad 6 is superior HW. iPad Killer, so this is no wonder for me…
One Plus 6 / 6T should be also very good and stable port (from what i heard)
Motorola G2 / G2 LTE - this is really surprise for me. I want to see if its really usable as a tinkerphone.
There’s the “mini-port”/patch/compat layer for Xperia X Compact.
That’s my ‘other’.
Sony Xperia 10 III

@jwr Sony Xperia 10 III is not a ported device. Its official device. We dont count them here.
Well… it is a port too - but not a community port. The topic could actually do with a clarification.
