Phone (xa2) does not turn on

Seems like from yesterday update my phone can act dead (charging while turned off)

Everybody keeps telling me it’s how it should be but but i don’t think it is as now phone even has troubles powering on

If i press the power button it vibrate for a brief second, and then nothing happens

I need to plug the charger so the phone can act dead and while the battery indicator is on, turn it on with the usual power button, only this way the phone will power on

Any suggestion on how to solve it?

This is not the issue described under “known issues” in the release notes?

No, that is a problem with the update process i already solved, i think

The “act dead” mode, .i.e. start the minimal charging mode when device is off and it is plugged into usb power, has been there always, it is nothing new in the latest update.

However, if the device does not start without being plugged in, then there is something wrong.

Does it show the Sony logo and unlocked bootloader warning when you try to turn it on, or just vibrate with black screen?

However, neither 247’s nor my XA2 has ever entered the act-dead mode until 5.0.0.71 arrived:

(I haven’t updated mine yet, so it’s too early to say if I will also get act-dead working.)

Just vibrate to a black screen and the led is green

If i plug the charger the act dead mode turns on and from there i can turn on the phone (usual lock warning + sony logo then phone is turned on)

Might help if you could get the bootloader version. On command line as root run

grep -o 'xboot=\S*' /proc/cmdline

it should print out something like

xboot=1310-0301_X_Boot_SDM630_LA1.0_O_123

someone over the telegram group suggested me to do an hard restart, and now the phone seems to boot up

hard restart is done by pressing vol up + power untill phone vibrates three times and then it shuts off

In my case (XA2 on 4.6.0.15) that yields
xboot=1310-0301_X_Boot_SDM630_LA3.0_P_38

my XA2plus is on 5.0.0.68 and gives the same string to the grep command.

It also boots to SailfishOS when turned off and plugged to charge.

Same here, on the .71 XA2 dual one, as well as on the .67 one.

The bootloader version depends on what Android version was on the device before flashing Sailfish. Apparently the LA3.0_P_38 handles the boot to charging/act dead mode differently.

i had latest android available for my xa2 when i flashed it

i think it was android 9
