DESCRIPTION:

Once in a week (Sundays), the phones battery is drained quite fast, the device get’s hot and when I check processes, I find a high cpu load caused by a (hidden/System) process called “tracker-extract”. If I kill that process, it will start again after a couple of seconds. The process runs for about 10-12 hours (didn’t really measure, but the process is finished on Monday). And I don’t have any issues during the week.

PRECONDITIONS:

Unknown.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Nothing special I can do to reproduce that, just have to wait until next sunday

EXPECTED RESULT:

Either not having a process run for that long with that high CPU usage draining my battery.

ACTUAL RESULT:

If nothing done by me, phones battery is drained to emptiness within about 10 hours.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Tracker is the media indexer… Do you have huge amounts of music/photos by any chance?

Well, I know, that this is the media indexer. But why is it draining the battery. Did not before 3.4.
