Obviously not evident: Do NOT upgrade to 5.0 - individiually bad experience with OTP apps

If you use SailOTP or ownKeepass do NOT upgrade to 5.0 as none of these apps support this OS version and since they’re no longer developed, will not support it in the future either.

I found out the hard way. There also seem to be a ton of bad apps on the official store that just fail to install for various reasons.

Just a friendly warning, stay on 4.6.

SailOTP works completely fine for me on C2 (so 5.x+)? Probably openrepos version though (nah, same version as from jolla store)

Ownkeepass 1.2.3 is working well on Xperia 10 ii SFOS 5.0.0.62 with an external database (.kdbx file)

I also use both of those apps on my daily driver (xperia 10 III, 5.0.0.62) without any issues. Generally speaking, pretty much all apps from Jolla Store should just work.

Ah negative. SailOTP works fine for me on 5.0.0.62 X10III.
Something is wrong with your specific phone, not the OS

OwnKeepass and sailOTP both work fine here, on a Jolla C2 with 5.0.0.62.

OwnKeepass also works for me on 5.0.0.62 on an Xperia 10 III with a .kdbx file. But I already had it installed before the upgrade so I can’t report what happens when you try to install it fresh on 5.0

I’m a big fan of FoilAuth (OTP), which has worked since I started using SailfishOS.

I can, as I installed it fresh on my C2. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, it works just fine.

I use FoilAuth and ownKeePass in 10III for ages now and they work fine in 5.x.x.x versions (so far).

On my 10III the SailOTP installation that was originally done on SFOS 4.5 has been through updates to 4.6 and further to 5.0 without any issues whatsoever.

SailOTP works fine on Xperia 10 V, was originally running 4.6 and then updated to 5.0.0.62 with no problems

Ah sorry, I see now SailOTP does work from the Shop (I tried Chum which does not list it anymore). I was talking about Xperia 10 III with a re-flash, so all apps needed reinstall.

Ownkeepass however is not listed in the shop or chum store. I didn’t try openrepos yet. I did try installing ownkeepass from rpms downloaded from chum web directly and they fail.

I seem to vaguely remember that ownKeePass wasn’t published as aarch64 in Chum and had to do some search to get the repackaged binary from a different developer in OpenRepos. Edit: got if from here: ownKeepass (aarch64) | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System

not sure is the right thread to ask, but does anyone knows why some apps install without any error and then appears at the launcher for 1 second just to dissappear again and you are not able to run them? that has not happened to me on previous sailfish versions.

SailOTP (Xperia 10 III, 5.0.0.62) works fine here.
