No search in PureMaps with OSM Scout Server

I’m using the Offline profile in PureMaps (3.4.0-1.22.1.jolla) with OSM Scout Server (3.1.0-1.16.1.jolla). I have maps for a handful of countries stored on the SD card.

Maps work well, routing too, but search doesn’t. I invariably get “No results” for names I know exist on the map. (Search does match bookmarks I have made, though.)

The log in OSM Scout Server show multiple messages like:
ERROR: Cannot open geocoding database: /run/media/defaultuser/92...6b/MapsXA2/geocoder-nlp/europe-denmark
I can’t tell if there’s something rotten in the state of europe-denmark or if this is just the first thing OSM Scout Server encounters and then quits. It is the first folder if sorted by name.

I think the problem started after I downloaded updated maps in OSM Scout Server about two weeks ago. Also, I notice that Chum says I have the latest server installed, but Chum → Releases lists 3.1.5 as the latest version.

Any ideas on what I could check next?

Try to download the maps again. Sounds like something got corrupted. Latest OSM Scout Server point releases were about other platforms (UT) and had no changes in SFOS. So, if you installed the latest from Chum, you should be fine.

I had this issue sometimes also. I didn’t download maps again and next day navigation and search worked without problem.

Well, turned out Denmark and Switzerland were the culprits. (Wonder what those two were up to…)

The fix was unsubscribe, run cleanup, subscribe, download for each offender.

Thanks, rinigus!
