No previous backups found on new installation on Xperia 10 II (Dual Sim)

BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 4.1.0.24
HARDWARE (XA2, Xperia 10…): Xperia 10 II
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): No

DESCRIPTION:

Fresh install on Xperia 10 II, go to Settings->Backup, and no previous backups found

PRECONDITIONS:

Back up created on Xperia XA2 Plus (Dual Sim) running on 4.0.1.48

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create backup
  2. Go to Settings->Backup
  3. No backups found

EXPECTED RESULT:

Find created backup

ACTUAL RESULT:

No backup found.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Not the same, but I did find a way to move my Contacts over from that link. I need the rest though before I can use this as my daily driver.

I have also found if I create a backup on the Xperia 10 II, it will create a folder in dropbox. I can then move my back file from the XA2 Plus to that folder and it will restore it; how ever it fails upon reaching Notes.

I noticed that my backups from Xperia X were .tar.gz whereas the 10 II would create new backups with just .tar. Simply renaming the .tar.gz to .tar enabled me to restore a backup from X on 10 II.

For me the backups from Dropbox (saved on XA2) couldnt be found on 10 II but saving the backup to SD card on XA2 and restoring from it on 10 II worked.
