No audio after some time, have to reboot

Yes. But if Utilities is a QML file, it might be editable / patchable

These would help a lot!

Hi. I’ve been browsing this Sailfish development a lot now and wondering how software bug detection is done in this operating system. I’ve been involved in Apple’s beta development group as a standard user for over a decade and there is a great ā€œfeedbackā€ app for beta users where the situation/crash/bug can be captured in a variety of ways and sent to the developers. Is there such a thing in the Sailfish operating system? Greetings :+1: (translated wirh google)

Not that I know of. SFOS is Linux so sometimes more oriented towards CLI tools then others. So anyone can capture logs and attached them to the bug report. Either here or on the github.

But there is a nice native bug reporting app Bugger available.

Idk if that can fullfill what you need but here are some tools, script and description:

I spend day in a place where signal was spotty to say at least. Xperia 10 III with latest version showed switching quite often from very poor 2,5G to decent 4G. Also had wifi enabled but went from time to time on the edge where it lost the wifi signal and got it back. I lost the audio around 5 times in less than 24h. Also while driving back to home. Some times the utilities restart solved the problem but other times I had to reboot. I thought I report here still while remembering. Will wait for the next version upgrade as talked in the community meeting if with that we can see improvements.

Ive noticed similar behaviour to this also on my volla quintus. I had assumed it was a volla/mtk/custom port issue, but I will check further next time I notice it.

For me, pulseaudio restart doesnt fix it, and one thing i noticed was that the pa sink appeared to be set to voicecall, but changing it manually didnt do anything, and it remained as voicecall.

Tested restarting ohmd yet? This seems to be universally working for everyone affected.

I’m not sure if this is helpful or not, but a few days back all sounds on my Xperia 10ii were replaced by a loud signal tone. Loud enough to sound like an alert for a bomb about to go off. I had to turn off touch tones and other sounds completely.

This was in Finland but happened in an indoor area with very spotty connectivity (or at least that’s when I noticed it). So the mention by @CLMA31 about facing the issue when connectivity was bad is curious indeed. This may even explain why people see this frequently in southern countries, but less frequently in Finland (which generally has extremely good connectivity).

This was with Sailfish 5.

Just noticed that this happened again with 5.1. Sound lost, videos stutters. Sony Xperia 10 III, pretty much everything else is on except NFC. No sim, only wlan. Have played quite a lot with location. Interesting to hear if other also still experience this. Restarting audio from utilities solved this

Flashed the newest verison sailfish on my 10iii and it still after a week went silent. Funny enough was that i had my earphones standby and connected them via bluetooth to the phone and there was sound. Not through the speakers though, Had to reboot for that.
