Thanks for the original report @phklrz, and @mkz for sharing your experience. It’s unfortunate that the reboot didn’t address the problem for you. Given this, I’ve created an internal report about it and tagged it here as “tracked”.
Same as above for my XA2 with Sailfish OS 5.0.0.73.
National IDs in some European countries now basically require you read data off of them through NFC in order to be able to interact with public institutions.
That is unrelated to the original question which was about NFC not working at all. Android applications have never had access to NFC on Sailfish (maybe in the future, but not yet).
Sorry for confusing you, but my message above has nothing about Android… Same as above, I’ve tried reading NFC tags on my XA2 (even after a reboot) and checked the logs with NFCLogger from OpenStore. All this on latest Sailfish OS.
I’ve installed Android app ‘Freja’ (ID-app) and used it for NFC-scan my passport, and it worked fine. The app works great. Sony Xperia 10 III SFOS 5.0.0.72.
