Nice to have 3-slot tray. But in older phones where battery could be removed there was different places to sim card and memory card. And it looks like there was room enough to have more places for sims.
Maybe new phones have very much more components inside and space is limited
Just the antenna which combines “all” bands for 2, 3, 4, 5G is for sure bigger than those 2G antennas back then.
And larger camera sensors, more cameras, a battery with higher capacity, an increased SOC, more RAM, and additional SSD storage, etc.
Any info on video out from the usb-c connector?
Also i hope when you finalize this product to start working immediately on the next (with a shrinked pcb)
What purpose would Video-Out serve without software support?
You can fix and add SW. You cant fix HW.
Just get the foundation right and everything else will follow… So since we are all staring at the screen all day, then that is number one… so AMOLED high res. Next is RAM… Then processor… Then storage… then everything else. Allso i want to thank the community here for beeing so supportive and positive. I think Jolla has a great potential, its a great OS, Honestly i think its the best mobile OS out there currently

Is orange the final color ? I like it but I have the feeling I see it everywhere on ads together with an apple icon. And I don’t want to have a phone that looks like the apple ones… there are black & white alternates but it’s nice to have a colourful option…
Just read the specs. Everything will be fine and even black. There will be different clip ons.

But I personally consider orange a beautiful option and letting others occupy one’s colors will not make you happy.
(And think of all the millions of new TikTok users joining in February together with all the Graphene people. Once the mobile world is conquered, about April, I guess, we will need all colors. All. I’m looking forward to the golden edition with Swarowski Cristals

I can read, so far 3 colours are going to be available: black, white & orange. I like the orange very much as I said but it, unfortunately, reminds me of that other brand… maybe jolla can come with another colour to stand out.
Trust me, these bezels and notch in 2026 would be seen from a mile away, no one will assume you have an iPhone 
The back cover will be removable and Jolla or anyone else can probably crate more colors easy!
I saw many iPhone over the years but never one orange. I’m not sure this color is particularly associated to this brand.
But I would gladly like to have a light blue option. 
The orange color was exclusive for pre-orders for the first Jolla phone JP-1301.
I myself do like the orange for pre-orders this time as well but i do think you can opt for another color as stated in the pre-order vouncher.
I remember that there were CAD drawings for the first phone so one could 3d print their own covers and cases and i expect it this time around as well.
Given they have significant pre-orders and that coloured covers are the cheapest thing to do compared to any other TOH modules, I hope Jolla offers more options. For now we have “classical” (black), “alternate” (white), “flashy” (orange). Missing types with examples: “girly” (e.g. pink, purple), “shiny” (silver, gold), “milky” (e.g. sky blue, aquamarine), “dark” (e.g. wine red, navy blue).
I never got the obsession with slimmer phones.
A super chunky bundle with a keyboard, stand, pen and a 3.5mm audio jack TOH will be my dream phone
Yeah, the orange is unfortunate imo (I notice it might remind some of a certain website, my family are ruthless and will no doubt notice…). I appreciate that it’s a special benefit for preorders but I’ll probably choose the black instead, unless Jolla release more colours last-minute. Cyan would be nice as others have mentioned.
I would absolutly get a “girly” one. Sparkly pink? Yes, absolutely. On the other hand, if I left the phone somewhere, no one would guess to return it to me.
I also second cyan, the cyan font color that it used at starting SFOS for example: it is nice and already in use within the OS
