Newbie questions about daily use

Hello Jolla Community

I used an XPeria in 2019 and 2020 but was not so happy with the Sailfish OS in the end.

Now I read today that a new version was coming. Now my questions to those who know more than me.

  1. What about the Android apps?

  2. I’m currently using a Google Pixel 8 Pro and I don’t think I can flash it, can I? If so, what would be wrong?

  3. I’m diabetic and use a CGM sensor that currently works great with the phone and so there are no problems and I don’t have to carry an additional device around with me so that I’m warned when my blood sugar goes to areas where it shouldn’t!

  4. How well or not well does Android Auto work?

  5. Which device other than the Jolla C2 can you recommend that “can do a little more” in terms of hardware?

I would be happy to have a friendly exchange.

regarding 1: Android Apps which do not require Google Play Services work well, most that require Google Play services work with microG (not all). Remark that bluetooth is not available for Android Apps (in particular with respect to point 3)

2: there is no port for Pixel Phones and Community Ports generally don’t have Android App Support

3: won’t work

4: Sorry, I don’t know, you could search the forum

5: Xperia 10 V should be the most potent hardware, but release is not complete currently

OK, thanks for the info. I’ll have to pass then.

It’s a shame, it would be great if the Android apps could use Bluetooth.
