Well, I just wish that they stopped changing UI every fucking now and then. It’s not that they create any significant improvements, just confusion and yet another learning period… just in time when we have really learned how it works.
This is a call to all developers… stop renewing the UI unnecessarily!
Thank you, for still allowing me to speak my mind anyway. It is not entirely obvious in these times.
And yes… I understand the itching to write new code, but it might be possible to channel it in another direction.
Keeping older interface as an additional effort and not really Jolla core business. Let’s not distract them from doing the job we all wish them to thrive in.
I’m not talking about Jolla. It’s more of a general complaint.
When it comes to Jolla, and most of our app developers, I have nothing to complain about, in this matter.
Sorry if I failed to be clear about it.
You know what? I don’t think they care one bit about negative feedback, they are probably just offended, like most others in today’s social climate, so I think I refrain from the effort to become a member of yet another forum.
I just needed to get it out of my chest, that’s all.
Not all categories visible on the left side and main window content changing when clicking on All Categories is not a good idea of the Discourse devs (to say it very polite).
edit: Solution was to select ‘edit’ (the pencil icon in the right of the ‘categories’ header) and manually select all categories of interest by checkbox. Now they are all shown permanently on the left side. No more click on ‘all categories’ necessary.
No, this is only left coloumn on/off here at my side. The rest of the new layout doesn’t change, e.g. the personal menu in the upper right corner.
edit: The forum homepage runs faster now after the update.
edit:
Forum works fine on Linux Desktop / Firefox,
Stock browser (4.5.0.24): same screen as @robthebold below,
Appsupport/Fennec: works, but pages load very slow.
Not a fan of the huge font - can that be adjusted?
It makes my Xperia 10 III feel decidedly 720p.
I run a 1.175 scaling across all sites to make them effortlessly readable on 32’’ 4K. The new forum interface looks like it has that already preapplied, and gives me geriatric-font with my scaling settings. I really wonder why it refuses to match the rest of the web…
