Hello Team. Im UX/UI designer and have some ideas for Future of Sailfish OS and Sailfish Desktop OS for full Jplla eco-system. Im using for a long time Linux, and now i whant try to make operating system (based on alpine for a first time), with new type of GUI with elements of mobile SFOS and make full ecosystem. And have some ideas for paying system for mobile linux systems, like Sailfish, Ubuntu touch, Mobian, Postmarket OS. May be it can be interest for Jolla?

Jolla has a recruitment page, though? Would they actually be able to put us on the payroll, or is the link you sent basically for people who want to work voluntarily? It doesn’t really look like that, but let’s ask anyway.

This is the wrong place to use fancy-shmancy words like UI and UX.
Every single time anyone has a suggestion, people here start telling you how all they need on a phone is a terminal window and other similar…things.

Isn’t designing with AI a bit ridiculous? You leave most of it to the AI, and it comes up with everything itself. And as for UI and UX, I think Jolla already has a very dedicated design lead. I looked into it recently, and since I had already seen his face, I noticed that he was at the Jolla Day 1 event. So we already have a design lead, but will he bring something new? Maybe he will, considering he came to the party.

I don’t want to undermine your job or your vision, but I really wonder where do you see the sailfishOS in all of that?
To me this looks like a WP/Android inspired launcher with some very outdated elements to begin with.
I was about to suggest that you should fork Nemo to have a decent base to build something (cause I don’t know what you are trying to do. Land a job in Jolla? Show us a concept UI?Start a new OS?) but it looks like your design might have better luck as an Android launcher.
Maybe I’m wrong ofc, but that’s just my 2c.

Most of the screenshots look like an unpolished Windows Phone 7 clone with an android-esque lipstick to me. Not to be rude, that was just my initial thought process. And concepts are there to be iterated over, and improved.
That being said: cannot quite see how your concepts/ideas would be a great fit to SailfishOS … and, to be honest … would not be too interested about having them integrated in the main project. And that’s coming from someone who loved the UI of his Windows Phone 7.
It derivates too much, and would most probably be a better fit for a fork/to be its own thing.

i like WP too, but my concept has not just fonts & METRO design system - i useg categorisation above all user data
I can only agree that it looks Windows-centric and dated.
But what is perhaps worse is all the near-top-of-screen buttons - very unergonomic.
