I don’t think there will be updates on this until August, since the Jolla team are on holiday. Personally I’m willing to wait until October or so, if there are still no updates then I’m putting Android back on my 10V. Selling it is a bit overkill since it’s a nice phone imo

16:15:00 #info Jolla: It sounds that you’re seeking for an update for VoLTE, GPS, NFC, sensors status. We are happy to report some progress on HIDL → AIDL changes. One remaining to fix is the VoLTE HIDL → AIDL changes. To be noted that AppSupport is already available for Xperia 10 IV and 10 V. We have not yet branched 5.1 and branching shall take place after summer vacation period. It’s yet to be seen whether we have VoLTE fixed by Sailfish OS 5.1 release. It should not be an issue to have fixes integrated for 5.1 update release after the first release.
edit. so if I would make guess they might publish paid license for IV & V during 5.1 update (probably requires at least VoLTE support) and other functionalities will follow with follow up updates.
I think Rainemak also said that there might still be one 5.0 update before 5.1.

well i have no idea why this is communicated by this way. it is clear that people want to have camera, audio jack … like on just any other cell phone…
i wish i had lazy work like they have in jolla, i can not go on vacation if jobs are not finished, same applies to my employees …

Well they were asked the status update? At least to my understanding Jolla is depending a lot what Sony releases and only after they can do the implementation. One reason why I don’t fully understand these official Sony supports.
Regarding holidays, it is illegal to not let employees have holidays in Finland. I am sorry that your country has that kind of situation. Entrepreneurs can choose if they want to work all year around 12h a day but hopefully for employees sake situation gets better in your country also.

Honestly, Jolla is i think a small Team…so what do you except ? small teams = it takes longer.
And good that most of the European Countries have Worklaws, that forbids what you have said. I’m full with CLMA in that. Hope your Country gets it too… soon ™ cause Slav… is past.

There are several studies showing that there is a point where employees become so exhausted that they are producing more bugs and wasting more time than they did if they’d had been on a vacation.

With the holiday season coming to an end, it would be really nice to see some progress on this.
Had to get my kid a watchphone… Unless you’ve experienced it, you cannot fathom how awful it is to 1) have the 10iv audio always echo out and 2) a kid shouting “I’M ON MY WAY HOME NOW!” as a double-fail.
Puts the shutdown-after-recharge issue to shame.
But I learned that the xplora needs both AAS BT and the camera to work, which I don’t always need, to register as a guardian.
I also learned to social-engineer my wife into adding me instead of giving another rant about why do I put up with this.
Edit: of course it uses its own app for messages and of course the notification sounds don’t work either.

What are you on about, mate.
We will be updated soon about the 10 IV and V in a summarised manner as there is a lot of infornation spread about, at least that is what has been said elsewhere recently.
I re-read my post, and arrived at the conclusion that it was, unfortunately, perfect.
It portrays frustration without being angry or impolite, describes a situation that’s arisen somewhat unexpectedly, which combines most of the issues with the phone, and off-handedly mentions one not related to the acute situation.
It wouldn’t be awful for Jolla to get back in gear after the vacations and say “sorry, nothing from Sony, and this is where the tech’s at.”
Then one may consider seeing if Waydroid will work on the fp5, or hold out for fp6, or go Google Android, or whatever.

My Xperia 10 V is arriving within a month, so I’m super excited about all progress Jolla is doing on getting camera etc basics working on the phone!
I hope we hear more news soon.

Excuse me, could you point out where is the source of this information.
I find the message from mjtorn very reasonable, despite the anecdotal remarks. The communication from Jolla regarding the Sony support has been neglible. I was looking forward to hear some info from the Tampere community meeting but nada. Any news would be better than nothing really, whether it’s “bad” or “good”.
