Are there any native trip recording plug-ins / applications available for SailfishOS ?.
I already have PureMaps and OSM Scout Server installed along with offline map.

Kuri works very well and is able to use OSM Scout Server for offline maps, just as Pure Maps does.

How do i record ?. I can’t seem to find a record button.
It’s stop function is weird, Kuri swiping up stop record function interferes with default swipe up !!!.
I use it in German, therefore the menu items may have different designations. To record I go to the burger menu (upper right) → track recording/route recording (Routenaufzeichnung).
Here I can add details like name/designation and what kind of sports I want to record.
Then I select accept (Annehmen) in the upper right and recording starts.
You can pause or stop it with the pulley menu.

Mæp from Store can do this magic. This is a well-proven app from dcaliste who now thankfully improve basic apps.

gpscon log=gpx is probably the most lightweight option to do this.

What you describe indicates bad GPS signal, either caused by terrain, or by carrying the phone in a deep pocket.
There are tools to filter and improve GPX files, but not on SFOS, I’m afraid.
Maep is a great program, it utilises the secondary view in multitasking. Unfortunately, it is no longer maintained and it sometimes gets laggy. I don’t know why it happens, maybe after longer use, maybe when it has loaded some number of tiles? When it happens I usually keep it running and it often gets back into normal but not always.
The track can be also saved by copying it from ~/.cache/maep/harbour-maep-qt/track.gpx

You should also import a gpx track by copying to ~/.cache/maep/harbour-maep-qt/track.gpx.

Placed Phone on dashboard mobile holder / 2 wheeler holder.
even tried two apps on parallel(gpscon / OSM Scout), same results with gpscon. Perhaps i should increase the interval for capture and see if it resolve the issue.
