Native Browser compatibility check on this Forum

Search engine choices are neither locked nor mandatory, and you’re free not to use any of the default ones.

Although it is a bit non-obvious how to switch to a preferred one away from the default list.

The list of available search engines gets updated automatically (on SFOS 5.0 Tampella) while you browse websites, that’s a good point effectively.

I just tried (3 times, closing the web browser in between) : picked up Kagi, opened a new tab, typed a plain text “test” and validated. I ended up with Yahoo asking for cookies acceptance (I imagine that it’s because Yahoo was my previous choice over the initial list).

If something more is required we’re getting far in the non obvious way

But I edited my previous post, thank you for the hints.

Got it working.

In the list of Search engines, once I selected Kagi, I had it selected in the previous page (global parameters) but it was not working.

Back to the list I had 3 Kagi entries : Kagi, Kagi Search, and one more ambiance-colored option at the end of the list with again the sub-title : click to install.

After that it fall in a working state. I tried the 3 options but found no difference. Still, it works <3

@siltaar Search for the QT6 thread and install Angelfish to have another native browser. Voilà.

If you don’t understand what’s involved - the answer is no.

I put it at the end of my (NextCloud sync) “quests” list…

My off-topic newcomer life

Previously it was : Advanced Camera (but still no triple-sensor), Multi Keyboard + OKboard (to get ciphers, symbols and swype-like keyboard), and OSM Scout server up and running with downloaded maps for Pure Maps.

Today as OpenRepos got back online I installed Nightish, but still have Whisperfish to get working as 2nd installation after AAS Signal, and ArcaneChat (as missing DeltaTouch), and Wireguard to get working using QRcodes to transfer long keys (as the manual attempt is not working).

Sailtrix worked “as expected” that was a grand début ! (I almost feel uncomfortable it just works)

But OK, I take notes for Angelfish. It’s just one more step. I’m after turning AAS down. There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel (except for Phonehook in replacement of Android SpamBlock, that can’t install because of missing dependancies), and for sure this light is not a train towards me, as it seems to get farther the more I go.
