Native app for Lemmy? Name of the app: Dee

Might be stupid question and topic that has been answered somewhere (didn’t find with search), but is there any native app to use Lemmy?

I think there isn’t one. At least I haven’t found one as well up to now

Thanks for quick confirmation! Hopefully one day  Might not be the most critical app.

Edit. I marked your answer as a solution for now

Edit2. Changed the solution for nephros tip

There is a limited workaround in that you can follow Lemmy communities from Mastodon and then interact with them using Tooter.

I’m writing a native app for Lemmy. I’ve just released the first version on OpenRepos (can’t use Chum due to Rust >= 1.85) with few features and many bugs, so please have a look at it, open feature requests, contribute, translate it!

Congrats on the release @ilpianista ! Let’s work together to get 1.89 on Chum, we need it too

Thank you for developing a Lemmy app @ilpianista. I have opened a Weblate project for Norwegian bokmål.

Seriously, I just tried Dee. How good can app be in alpha stage? Apparently super frigin good! So far I havent encountered any big bugs. A lot of features probably come down the road, but idea for the gestures…. I know even in Quickddit you have to long press to be able to upvote/downvote/reply/etc. Anyway, in Android app Voyager, there are gestures (swipes from left or right) which I think are quite Sailfish feeling (swiping in general). Just an idea if it would be worth to consider swipe based interaction inside the app

Also, down in the road, it would be nice to see preview of pictures without opening the post. Something I like in Quickddit also.

Thank you so much for this, again one app I can switch over <3

Edit. I might even need to create Github account so I can finally report bugs properly and open feature request outside this forum

edit2. Hopefully we will have Rust ugrade in 5.1 upgrade and we could have Dee even in Harbour!

Thank you for your words

About the gestures, I don’t know. At the moment I don’t believe Sailfish apps should have their own swiping gestures, but we’ll see.

Edit. I might even need to create Github account so I can finally report bugs properly and open feature request outside this forum

Yes, please

edit2. Hopefully we will have Rust ugrade in 5.1 upgrade and we could have Dee even in Harbour!

We don’t need to wait for the Rust upgrade. Actually, I’ve just 1 failure in the RPM validator and once I solve that I’m going to upload it on Harbour as well.

Just a idea, in my head could fit well in to the Sailfish gesture philosophy, but understand why things are the way they are.

Done! Opened my first ever issues in Github  edit. Feel free to close the poor ones, I am in very unknown waters there

This is amazing! I like so much when excellent apps are in Harbour, grows the official store nicely! And much easier for newbies to find

0.0.2 released and submitted to Harbour as well :crossed_fingers:
