Music from Android apps not resuming after voice navigation callouts

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.5.0.16
HARDWARE: X10 III
UI LANGUAGE: Polish
REGRESSION: Not sure

DESCRIPTION:

Pure Maps offer TTS voice navigation commands. They use navigator nemo resource class, which makes the music playback stop when the command is read, and then the music gets resumed. At least this is how it works with native SFOS apps, unfortunately the sound gets paused with Android apps, but doesn’t get resumed.

PRECONDITIONS:

Install Pure Maps and Mimic from Chum, then some Android app for playing Music (like Spotify).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start playing music with an Android app (like Spotify)
  2. Open Pure Maps, either start navigation or go into settings and under “test” test TTS
  3. Repeat the same but play the music from SFOS app (like default music player).

EXPECTED RESULT:

Music should get resumed with both app.

ACTUAL RESULT:

After the voice finished the Spotify music playback is not resumed, but with the default music gets unpaused immediately.

You may use hutspot to access spotify, as a work around. Or maybe use waze, which displays speed cams as a benefit:)
Btw: same problem vice versa, e.g. navigation with waze would stop media playback through sailfiah apps.

Another event that stops media playback:

  • Have WhatsApp conversation open
  • Type a message and send it
  • WhatsApp makes a “blip” sound
  • e.g. Nettiradio playback stops

I think this is the same underlying issue…
