BTW, re Authenticator: make sure MicroG is installed and that all self-checks pass. Notifications will work then, though I still suggest you unlock the phone when you expect a notification, otherwise the code prompt sometimes doesn’t appear (even though you tapped the notification).
Wait what, you have some easily reproducible way to use MS authenticator? I have all self-checks tapped from Microg, even gave permission to display over other apps. I don’t know how to test if all of those self-checks pass?
When ever I try to activate the passworless sign-in request thingy it demands to set screen lock for android side which doesn’t work. Do you have some tip for that?
Ah, I never tried setting up passwordless. However, since it requires android screen lock, this won’t work on J2 (yet?), but should work on Xperia 10 III, as long as you install appsupport-lockscreen from Storeman, and follow the instructions to enable Android screen lock.
But isn’t the passwordless sign in what givea you the number popups for logins?
Not sure, I have a bunch of work accounts, which always need password on PC and entering confirmation number on the phone.
What does any of those profiles look in the MS authenticator? And just to check, you get those number verifications even to Jolla phone after entering the password in PC?

Your problem is the screen lock – that doesn’t work by default in AppSupport, but there’s a patch that works on Xperia 10 III, but not yet on J2.

Nope, these are on J2.
Fuck man, you are genius! So for others, when you get initially your MS account added to the authenticator and are in screens seen upper messages, choose “Set up 2-step verification”. This will then ask you to sign in, do it. After it will give you some page, continue. After it will tell you that your hardware doesn’t support passkey, skip. In next screen it asks you to set lock screen pin, from this screen go back from arrow at top left corner. With this way you get what most of us are looking here!
@filip.k could you move these messages regarding the MS authenticator between me and @ender to some thread that better fits for this? At least I finally have the working procedure to setup it properly! Going to sleep super happy

I added the accounts by going to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and clicking “Add sign-in method” there, selecting “Microsoft Authenticator”, then scanning the QR code.
Can’t you just use SailAuth or a similar OTP app? I use it for an outlook account on my X10iii.
(Maybe I had the admin add that MFA option for me.)
For sure you can if admin ha enabled it. My school account can only be authenticated through MS 2 step verification. Now I don’t need to have second phone for that!
I’m very unpleased by my school desicion and contacted about this problem but I can’t do much more… waiting brighter future….
I hope they soon fix the android log screen issue and add fingerprint reader support
Personally 2-step verification is enough and it doesn’t ask any fingerprint or lock screen pins when approving those!
