Missing option in generic imap email account setup

DESCRIPTION:

The ‘Always up to date’ option is not available during setup, only ‘Every 5 minutes’, etc.
It appears afterwards once the setup is finished, but you need to come back to the account settings and know that this option is available afterwards.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Setup a new generic imap mail account
  2. Choose the sync frequency

EXPECTED RESULTS:

The option is available right in the setup screen, not only afterwards. Others options are available in both cases.

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Option not available during the setup

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Patchmanager: no

My intuition says this depends on the provider, so the support cannot be detected before talking to the server, e.g. IMAP IDLE - Wikipedia

Sounds plausible.
I thought that it was standard for all imap accounts.

Even so, the option could be offered and not enabled if not actually supported - don’t know which one’s the better way

At least, with your proposition even people not familiar with imap know that it’s a possibility.
