Nah, played around with it, it doesn’t seem so.

My current theory is that the Notification is a direct child of ApplicationWindow instead of e.g. a Page but have to test.

You got a PR meanwhile with some small improvements.

ye thanks mate but i’ve already done similar improvements, mainly setting the progress value correctly at fail/end so you can close the notification at fail/end

funnily i can’t close it manually but if i close all notifs it closes the in progress notification its weird

Also maybe its because the replacesId is 1 but that’s just guess

First, thank you for Microtube.
I enjoy using your app, sometimes it’s slow, but makes me possible to download videos with ease.
The thing I don’t like about design UI is that you have to swipe just after you launch the app, type on search box and then it will comes with results.
I think should be directly a search UI and then the possibility to select the categories …

Maybe wrong place to ask but how should I set up login to my youtube account? I don’t really understand how to setup OAuth in this case. Should I enter application name as Microtube and then what should the support contact ?
Please let me know if it isn’t appropriate post for this topic.

It is incorrect but you go to the https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials, click on create credentials, oauth client id, application type desktop app, name doesn’t matter, and voila, you have client id and if you click edit you have secret

oh an you might need to add oauth consent screen, app name doesn’t matter contact name doesn’t matter (its mostlikely your email), most of that stuff doesn’t matter

Excellent app, but looks like even though I was able to obtain OAuth client id with secret and then I was able to login with Microtube, I am unable to import my subscriptions. It just says “Importing 0/0”.

you need to add https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube scope in oauth consent screen as it is stated in app’s description

Thank you for the response.

I added the mentioned scope which was marked as “sensitive scope” and needs verification. I filled the needed fields to begin verification process. Google sent me an automated email with a request to respond, which I did.

Now the consent screen has “Verification Status” with a bunch of issues to resolve.

I think I’m done for now. :frowning:

Speaking of the UX or rather stability.

Issues:

  1. I face the issue of ‘A lot of buffers are being dropped’ Error.
    1.1 Is it a known issue?
    1.2 When this error happens, the app does not re-play the previous video and instead goes to next video in the queue, I assume it should go back to the previous video unless it’s finished

  2. When I open multi-byte videos, sometimes the multi-byte letters become big square (not readable)

UI

  1. After choosing one of subscriptions, the list of the videos in the channel comes up with Search bar. Top-right, I see ‘Search Find videos’ with a dot (to show I can swipe right), but when I swipe right (which I expect to find videos), it goes to the video player. I guess it is confusing.

I got confused by the same thing in another app (Spritradar) and have learnt that the text next to the right dot is independent from the dot. It’s just the title of the current page and the dot is just an indicator and button for another page.

Hi. I found that I cannot play any videos because of forbidden errors.
Restarting, reinstalling did not work.
Does anyone face the same issues?
I’m using C2.

Yes, I do for about week. But not all videos and not always. Sometimes waiting with the app open helps.
