Microsoft accounts not really working in mail app

hello guys, since i turned on the phone this morning, all my ms accounts ask me to re enter my credentials

done multiple times now but as soon as i trigger a sync the message pop up again, and this is only happening with my ms accounts, no problem at all with my pec or vivaldi account

is anybody experiencing the same?

just for info, i checked on pc and everything is ok…

I started encountering this yesterday, updating the account doesnt work. Re-adding the account seems to solve the issue at first, only until it stops working again.

There are long standing issues with Office365/Exchange Accounts on SFOS - synchronisation failures possibly to do with when network access changes from mobile to WLAN and vice versa. See:

This is an issue with the regular email account not an Office365/Exchange one. And I confrim that this happens on wifi without switching (no active mobile data plan)

Apologies, I assumed that ‘MS accounts’ in the original post meant ‘Microsoft Accounts’, i.e. Office365 or Exchange. It obviously means something different in this context.

No no i was talking about the usual microsoft mail, anyway seems it’s working again now, who knows…

Any such problems may well be unrelated to Sailfish OS as have had such “credential issues” using Hotmail with Mail for Mac for the last 48 hours.

So you think it’s ms?cause now is complaining again

MS Teams was down worldwide today.

Something or someone made a booboo in the Microsoft world - I’d give it a few days maybe it will work itself out.

Maybe it appears on my XA2 PLUS, but I keep getting the emails, sometimes there is a synchronization error, I hit update and the emails start to arrive, I think it has something to do with the next version of sailfish os, or something is moving it on the jolla servers, it’s just my imagination, I don’t know anything about software development, I’m just a simple user

sigh, it’s happening again, and it’s getting seriously frustrating…

It’s about a week now my Microsoft 365 account in the email app does not work. That coincides with the 5.0.0.76 EA update but might not be related to that, my organisation might have changed their settings too. I have recreated the account but it cannot fetch emails either, the app goes to an endless “updating account” spinning circle.
Is there anyway to check logs for that?

I second that, and I am still on 5.0.0.72. I get an error when trying to recreate the account. I also suspect a change in my organization or an update in the Microsoft 365 side of things.

So in the meantime, until Jolla fixes this, you or your friendly admin can activate IMAP in your Office 365 account in order to use email again.

From: [Release notes] Tampella 5.0.0.76 - Early Access

Might be reason for the problems, IIRC Microsoft ended the support end of February

Does this affect Microsoft 365 accounts too?

I am in no mean expert here, but would guess so. Note that I don’t have any certain information, would recommend to look up from Qwant.

As I have understood it. Microsoft is phasing out older versions of EAS on all tenants from March 1st to end of April.

I lost access to Exchange at work last Thursday.

As others have rightly stated, the M365 account connectivity in SFOS was EAS14.1 and MS deprecated that starting March 1st, working through all tenants with a scheduled completion date of April 30th. So it didn’t hit all mail domains at once.

Jolla-Keto replied to my inquiry about this in another thread stating that Jolla is working to get an EAS 16.1 minor SFOS update out this week.

I caution you to NOT delete and attempt to re-add your M365 account if you synchronize contacts. I did that and have been looking at only phone numbers in all calls and messages since then. I’m eagerly awaiting that EAS16.1 release, and then having my contact names back again.

I hope this post helps someone avoid the same mistake I made.

Hmmm I tried using IMAP, and while it works on Thunderbird, I cannot login on Sailfish. I will reach my IT to see if there are restrictions on my organization.
