Media Player connects to my car, but plays audio through phone

DESCRIPTION: Can move forward and backward songs on my list with car, but audio still plays through phone.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect to BMW
  2. Open media player
  3. Press play on media

EXPECTED RESULT:

Plays through car speaker

ACTUAL RESULT:

Plays audio through phone.

Can you confirm the car media system has recognized the phone as a media device (a2dp) and not just a phone (hfp)?

In other words, is your problem similar to, or the reverse of, Bluetooth: Car Kit only sees A2DP, not HFP ?

I didn’t know those settings existed. It pairs as a headset. Should I switch it to carkit?

It’s always a bit hit and miss.

So I can’t tell really.

Sometimes something must be changed on the car side as well.

That fixed it. Thank you. Changed the connection to Carkit.
